"Take It As It Is" is out!! šŸ˜ā¤ļø The 3rd slide is a photo of the cabin where we recorded the album in St-Donat and played videogames and stuff. 4th slide is the boys playing the song, so cute! I miss that place a lot. The first slide is me doing poupou in victoria, it was amazing! Anyways, the link to the song is in my bio 🄰

My album ā€œWaterbodyā€ is born today into the world!

We recorded it last summer in St-Zénon, Québec, on the banks of Lac Sawin, in the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence River Basin

This record means so much to me. It’s my first one and I can’t believe we made it. So much of it is about learning from water as a connector in a bountiful, joyous, future-driven way. About collaboration, interconnection, and thinking across boundaries. Water is showing us how to do that work. We tried to be true to that as much as possible in its creation. Here are the people who swam alongside me every morning:

Antoine Gallois / @antoine.gallois - Percussion
Chris Ross / @crisis.ross - Bass, Vocals
Kevin LaFleur / @kevin.lafleur_ - Guitar, Electronics, Banjo
Rachel Silverstein / @rachelflorencesilv - Piano, Vocals
Will Crosson / @wjcrosson - Violin, Synth, Vocals
Zacharie Bachand / @zachbachand - Pedal Steel, Banjo

Production by Antoine Gallois, Will Crosson, and me + additional production on Red Sun by Kevin Lafleur
Recorded by Antoine Gallois except 401 recorded by Kevin Lafleur
Mixed by Antoine Gallois
Mastered by Philip Shaw Bova / @mrmaster3000
Vinyl layout by Raphael Viens / @mild.therapy
Album art by Will Crosson and Romain Lavoie / @romainlavoie_
Art Direction by Raphael Viens and Will Crosson

Made possible by support from the CALQ

I’m indebted to the Indigenous stewards that have maintained a relationship with these lands and waters for millennia so that I may enter into one of my own!

I’m feeling as vulnerable and full of life as ever, thank you for being here and for listening

This album means so much to me. It’s an incredible piece of art, conceptualized and written by an incredible person, and contributed to by an incredible group of people. I’m so grateful to have participated where I could. Art direction, graphic design, violin, and production.

Somehow this album feels like it’s been brewing for a very long time, despite being written and recorded all within the last couple of years. A culmination in many ways, but also a beginning. Please go listen to Waterbody when it releases tonight at midnight, and more importantly come to the release show on September 11 at the Verdun Dancing Terrace! (More details can be found on the poster on slide 6)
