Zach Feeney & Jhalena Sian Sulcer choreographed a piece to "My One and Only Love" from "What is Love" with the Lark String Quartet. The students did this for Julio & Camille in celebration of their marraige. A beautiful tribute that brought back memories. Thank you. Made my day.
It was my first time arranging for strings, and ended my relationship with Arabesque---quite a bit before 2010. They never released it, and frankly I wasn't aware that it's available at all. I don't remember the details, but do remember that it was all about money. At my age now, I'm glad young people find these works from the past and that it speaks to them. I see that often with my students. That's a good thing....but it's become common to not compensate artists for their work because it's the easy ways to listen. If you go to concerts, purchase CDs even if you can't play them. Listen to radio---we get royalties.
Enough.....

After years of dreaming, planning, and saving inspirations on Pinterest, I FINALLY did it! 🏡✨ I’m absolutely in love with our “new” home.

What started as a million ideas became something even better, thanks to the incredibly talented team at Z and Company Design Group (Heather Eason and later Katie Overstreet) and Brad Michels of Michels Construction. This was a true collaboration from start to finish. They listened, pushed my thinking, and turned my vision into a home that feels completely ours. My goal was for every space to reflect the person who uses it most, and they nailed it. Zach and Sam each have bathrooms that feel like them, my bedroom and bath became the serene retreat I didn’t know I needed, and the kitchen, bar, and laundry room are just… chef’s kiss 🤌😘 I could sit in those spaces all day.

I also love how personal everything feels, especially my first commissioned artwork by the amazing Valentine Charmain Rule, which adds such a meaningful touch to our home. And a huge thank you to my parents for hosting the humans, and Charli & Coolio 🐾, during the chaos. We’re all very happy to be home. 😂

To everyone who helped bring this vision to life: thank you. You made a dream real. Home sweet “new” home. 🏡❤️

Dream Team:

🔨 Builder: Michels Construction

🎨 Art: Charmaine Rule
🤍 Design Assistants: Michelle, Zach & Sam Feeney
🐾 Charli & Coolio (the cutest troublemakers but we’ll keep them!)

Geez! 21 years old for this one! I’m not sure where the time has gone. It feels like he was just born and in the NICU, coming into the world five weeks early, smelling of vanilla from the pacifier the NICU provided. That’s our Zach - always causing a little drama, but always looking (and smelling) great! I’m so blessed, 21 years ago and still blessed today. My first baby, who made me a mom. I’m so grateful for what I believe to be a man who leads his life with integrity, grit, sense of humor, and always leads with his heart. Proud of you, Zach Feeney! So happy to be celebrating you today on one of our many adventures, with more to come. I love you beyond belief. Happy Birthday!
