✨It’s a wrap! 🎬 Last Thursday marked the final day of filming for Dear William, the movie filmed here in Greenwood. Based on David Magee’s 2021 memoir, the story explores breaking generational chains of addiction and the patterns that perpetuate them through the grace of God, human connection, and the love of family.

🎬I am told not every movie set is like this, but my experience was that each new person I met had a story of faith forged through affliction that paralleled our movie’s theme. It was a privilege and a dream to serve as the set medic and impromptu yoga/movement leader.

🧘‍♀️ This crew loved Greenwood well, supporting our local establishments, especially Zoe Coffee, Twin Rivers Rec, and Studio A. Beyond the economic boost to local businesses, Greenwood will also serve as a pilot community for educational initiatives connected to an opioid-settlement-funded project involving university research and community outreach.

📖 If you haven’t read the book, grab a copy from Turnrow. The film’s theatrical release is anticipated in mid-to-late 2027.

🎥Did you get to interact with any of the movie crew? Let us know in the comments!

🎬🎥 What a great night in Greenwood, Mississippi!

I had a great time covering the “Dear William” movie crew party at Webster’s!

Earlier that day, I had the opportunity to be an extra in the movie. Although I didn’t end up being used in any scenes, I still enjoyed the experience!

One of the best parts was getting to meet and network with so many wonderful people from all over the world! 🌎 From Canada 🇨🇦, England 🇬🇧, Australia 🇦🇺, and Italy 🇮🇹, they all came to our little town of Greenwood, Mississippi, to work on this movie production!

It was also great seeing actor Matt Passmore again! We had a chance to chat and take another picture together. 📸

By the end of the night, I was definitely tired, but it was worth it! 😂 I made some new friends, had some great conversations, and enjoyed spending time with the cast and crew.

It’s amazing how a movie production can bring people from different parts of the world together right here in the Mississippi Delta!

Thank you to everyone for such a wonderful evening! I hope to see some of you again in the future! ❤️

📸 Here are some of my favorite pictures from the night!

What a great time with my Recording Academy colleagues for our MusiCares day of service where we volunteered for the beautification project at the Music Village and then after we celebrated the start of Jazz Fest at our Memphis Chapter Grammy Block Party at my other office!😉

For those who do not know, MusiCares is a non-profit organization that is associated with the Recording Academy and is dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of the music community which is very near and dear to my heart. They provide a range of services, including financial assistance, mental health and addiction recovery support, and disaster relief, with a focus on ensuring the safety and sustainability of music professionals’ careers. If you want more information on what MusiCares can do in your community, please give them a follow.

Thanks to all who came down to NOLA for this exciting week and it was so great to meet some new faces too! ✨

Happy festival season! 💗⛅️🎺🎶
