My athletes often hear me talk about having a professional mindset.
.
What do I mean exactly? For starters, it’s not having to need a parent or coach to nag you into physical development like practicing or strength training. Nor is it a parent or coach having to preach to you about how to respect your team, opponents, game and even community. It’s not even forcing yourself through the use of external motivators to do what’s necessary to become a better player or person. It’s simply having discipline. It’s about making the things that are necessary to become better habitual.
.
For Levi, Greyson and many of their teammates, their discipline has paid off with a Northwest Showcase League Championship. But the journey doesn’t stop there. With the habits these young men have been building over the years at the Klubhouse, it’s not about this one championship. It’s about carrying this professional mindset to the next level.
.
The morning after getting a crucial win while going 6.1 innings on 123 pitches and 5k’s, Levi was back at the Klubhouse at 7am to put that work in. He could easily take the rest of the summer off but getting better is habit at this point. His habits will serve him well as he gets ready to compete for my boys @edmondsbaseball
.
Greyson also put in that work prior to getting the W to secure the Championship by tossing a CG on 101 pitches tallying 5k’s. This performance was not a one off either as this stud led the team with 63 IP, 2.00 ERA, 48k’s and a 1.3 WHIP. For those that don’t know baseball, go ask his @juanitabaseball coach @jay_muss_ and he can tell you how outstanding these numbers are.
.
You want outstanding numbers? You need to have a professional mindset. You want a professional mindset? You know what to do.

“At some point in your childhood, you and your friends went outside to play together for the last time and nobody knew it.”
.
We go indoors to do work together. I’m also fully aware that there will be a last time. But I hope these boys know I’m cherishing every session we have left together as a collective group.
.
I’m proud and excited for everything they have accomplished and will accomplish in their baseball careers. And no matter where they go, they will always have a home at the Klubhouse.
