I learned how to scuba dive when I was 19 years old. It is something that I am very passionate about. When I met my husband, he became certified, and then we eventually both became rescue divers. Through all of our adventures, I knew one day that I would share this love with Zaden as well. This past summer a dream came true for me - Zaden was finally able to get his PADI certification and has met all of the diving requirements to become an advanced open water scuba diver! 🤿❤️🙌🏻

I would like to thank one of my very best friends (for 30 years btw 🥰), Pete Corbett, for making this dream possible! I’ve been diving with Pete & Sandy my entire adult life and love them both dearly. Our trip to Cozumel, Mexico allowed Zaden and I to share countless underwater memories together.

We were able to swim along side of truly incredible sea life, including some very beautiful sea turtles, green moray eels, octopus, tropical fish, lobsters and nurse sharks just to name a few. We also swam through some amazing coral reef systems, dove the world-famous Santa Rosa Wall, went spearfishing for lionfish at a depth of 160 feet and went on a night dive searching for sea creatures that only come out at night! Zaden was even babtized by Pete. My mommy’s heart was simply about to explode! 🙏❤️

If you have ever thought about learning to scuba dive, there is no time like the present! Please reach out to me and I will put you in touch with the very best that there is! For all of my local WV friends, Pete owns Diver’s Training & Suppy & teaches lessons at the South Charleston Community Center! Just lmk and I will put you in touch! 🤿❤️ #scuba #divers #cozumel

Showball athletes Zaden Ranson and Jack Talarico are taking the boarding school route to get to the next level.

Zaden, coming from West Virginia to Deerfield, and Jack, coming from Texas to Avon Old Farms. Different states, same mission.

Both betting on themselves, finding the right programs, and making the most of their PG year at two great institutions. 📈⚾️

“I’m big…I’m brave…I’m beautiful”…the things I will be saying to myself just before I conquer the Ko’okiri Body Plunge, a 125-foot slide with a trap-door start and a 70-degree drop with these boys!!! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😂 (it’s the slide in the volcano by the way! 😳)

We are very proud to announce that Zaden is this year’s recipient of the 2026 Johnny Bench Award presented by MSA Sport honoring the top NCAA Division 1 male and female college catchers along with the top high school baseball and softball catchers in WV, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Zaden has also been recognized by MaxPreps as the WV Male Athlete of the Year. We are forever grateful for our village. It has been a truly incredible year for our boy. 🙏❤️

“Congratulations to the 2026 Johnny Bench Award winners,” said Hall of Famer Johnny Bench. “Catching is one of the toughest jobs in sports and demands leadership, toughness, quick instincts and a relentless work ethic. This year’s winners are outstanding athletes that have proven they can handle every part of the game from managing a staff, controlling the field and delivering when it matters most.
That’s what this award is all about. I am proud of what they have accomplished and I look forward to being with them and celebrating with their families and coaches.”

The 10 winners of the 2026 awards will be honored at the Johnny Bench Awards
Luncheon on July 7 at Great American Ball Park and recognized that evening during on-field ceremonies before the Reds vs. Phillies game,
7:10 p.m.
