That’s a wrap on SHIFTED…

Thank you to everyone that made us part of their night and danced with us until the sun came up. None of this would be possible without the continued support from you and all the talented performers who threw down some of the best sets we’ve seen yet 🙏🏽

We’d also like to highlight a few individuals that went out of their way to help us with running the event. Without you, there’s no way SHIFTED would have been the same…thank you ❤️

XOXR PRESENTS: ZAFAR

Hailing from Germany and finding his creative home in the pulsating heart of Detroit, Zafar is a rising star in the world of dance music. His unique blend of influences and boundless passion for sonic exploration have set him on a trajectory towards becoming a prominent figure in the scene.

Zafar’s musical style is a dynamic fusion of Trance, Techno, Electro, and Breaks. His are characterized by intricate and meandering transitions that skillfully weave in and out of tracks, creating a deeply hypnotic experience for the listener. When Zafar steps behind the decks for his XOXR debut, expect a high-tempo, thoughtful set that will keep you on the dance floor until the very last beat.

With the launch of “Community Function,” an ambitious party series he co-founded alongside Hadi Shehadeh and Michael Wright, Zafar made his introduction to the Detroit scene last summer. What started as renegade gatherings on Belle Isle has since evolved into warehouse and garage raves, ultimately making its mark in the city’s vibrant club scene. Community Function’s commitment to pushing boundaries and curating unforgettable experiences resonates deeply with Zafar’s artistic vision.

As a testament to his dedication to pushing musical boundaries further, Zafar also spearheads the Detroit-based record label “Abstract Sounds.” The label is dedicated to exploring eclectic and reemergent grooves, promising to breathe fresh life into the world of dance music. While Abstract Sounds prepares to unveil its inaugural release, the label has already captivated audiences with guest mixes and multiple mix series that provide a tantalizing taste of what’s to come.

“Iconic in Berlin: the homies”

This guy is one of the most brilliant people I know and has incredible taste. Super thankful for this man having the idea to go to Dekmantel and Berlin. The first day, I was a bit shy (rather unusual) but this man set the model for being socially open and meeting new people. From there, a serious of fortunate events unfolded which led us to new connections, locations, and new perspective. I am thankful for all that you are and excited for this next chapter. Improvements in the Heimstadt (Detroit) and beyond (more travel coming soon).
