On the 45th installment of Mind Over Mic, I sit down with first-time guest and fellow comedian @zandrajohnson_ ! Zandra is an Asheville-based comedian and a Surgical Technologist. We chat about her 2.5 years of doing standup comedy in and around Asheville, her journey so far, and what it’s like balancing comedy with working in the operating room.

Zandra and I also talk about her first time getting booked on the road—a show where we actually met nearly two years ago—and her origins in theater. Along the way, we bond over our mutual love affair with cheese, and Zandra hilariously reveals that she considers me a Girl’s Girl. She’s incredibly fun, bubbly, and easy to talk to, and this was a really fun conversation from beginning to end. Enjoy!

Mind Over Mic is created, edited, hosted, and produced by Nathaniel Booher. Episodes release bi-weekly on YouTube and Spotify.

This episode is brought to you by Cascade Draft House.
