I present to you Portugal, the creative capital of #Europe. In my travels, this country and specifically the city of Lisbon, was one of my biggest inspirations. Everywhere you look, art is on the precipice. From the architecture, sculptures, street art, music, museums, even down to the scientific design of the city. This is one of the cities where I feel I could really live for some time. It’s a melting pot being located on the western coast of Europe, with people coming in from Africa, Spain, London, the US and of course Brazil. One of the hottest destinations for digital nomads from across the world, but is vibrant with so much culture.

I was taken back by the welcoming feel to the country. Lisbon specifically reminded me of everything I love about New Orleans, Louisiana. Good food, people expressing their artistic minds, a celebratory nature, and a community that finds ways to come together and bring outsiders along for the ride.

Favorite Fact I learned: So Portugal is what you would deem Earthquake proof. Back in 1755, Lisbon had one of the biggest earthquakes that the world had ever seen to date. Over 12k people died in the event and this earthquake led to the birth or seismology and earthquake engineering. The city was redesigned to be earthquake resistant directed by the Marquis of Pombal.
