Sun-kissed highlights + Curly Cut 🌞💛

She wanted something natural but looked intentional so he went with a sun kiss balayage/highlights and didn’t do a traditional money piece, but use the Mohawk section on the top to bring more color towards the face to brighten up her features and bring out her natural skin tone

The curly cut was shaped based on how the natural fall, which gave us a heart shape paired with this color. 😉

The first of many for Insha’Allah, insha’Allah 🥺

I could not be more proud of my cast and crew. Nearly 2 full years after we wrapped on set, Insha’Allah has entered the festival circuit—and we have officially received our first selection!

@calfilmfestival is a curated, online festival with a laundry list of household names as previous winners of different categories. I don’t take it for granted for a moment that my screenwriting and directorial debut has been selected for the same festival that won Bella Ramsey an award ❤️

To my cast: thank you for telling this story with me. You brought yourselves into the roles in a way that exceeded my wildest expectations. You elevated every word I wrote to mean more and hit harder than even I intended. Thank you ❤️

To my crew: the hours, the speed, the skill, the finesse you all put in to bring this film to fruition is a blessing I can’t thank you enough for. From some of you joining your first ever film set to help, to some of you helping run the set better and more efficiently than I knew how to—Insha’Allah didn’t get made without each of you.

I hope to share updates about more festivals and an eventual premiere in the near future—but for now, I’m grateful and excited to celebrate such an incredible first :)

I’m so happy!!! The audience reaction was just amazing! ❤️

This was the first big American festival where I could be there in person and watch my film with an American audience. Hearing everyone laugh exactly where I meant it to be funny, gasp together during the scary moments, and even seeing some people cry at the end was incredible!

I love this feeling — knowing that I can make films that connect with audiences here. Especially now, when my American feature is almost finished and about to start its own journey.

Thank you to everyone who came to my pre-screening party! It was so exciting to share the trailer for my upcoming feature and see your reactions.

This day gave me so much inspiration!!!

Egor Vetokhin @sweetgeorge26 - best dop, watching our film on the huge screen was so great. The film looks beautiful! ❤️
@stanis_dmitriev it sounds so good!

And a huge thank you to the whole crew who supported us along the way!
