RIP to @theescondite we’ll always love ya

LA lost one of its best bars over the weekend. The Escondite was home for myself and my best friends for years. It’s the bar that my manager @yackogallagher first saw me play at, it’s the bar that Dave and Derek and Sarah of @futures.music @neongoldrecords @avenuearecords flew out to and decided to give me my first record deal at, it’s the bar that McClain and I spent hours and hours filming in and eating Italian beef sandwiches with peppers and wings at, it’s the bar that introduced many of my friends to the delectable sweetness of Malort, it’s the bar that felt like home because Brian and Manny and Manimal and the entire crew always treated us like family.

I’m grateful that we have so many videos and memories to keep such a special place living on forever.

Support your local dives and live music venues, don’t let places like this continue to die.

@pertinencee Thank you for being my best friend and believing in me just as much as I believe in you. No one has ever put as much faith in me as you have. This album you’ve spent a year making is everything you set out to create and more. You have earned every bit of the right to be able to put this thing out, and it is just as good as you think it is.

The last 4 years of working together has been nothing short of the proudest moments of my life. You are the center of every room you walk into, but in a way that makes everyone else stand taller and shine brighter. You constantly remind me that through believing in yourself, truly anything is possible. In many ways our relationship and back and forth discussions have shaped the way I see the world. I through and through with every bone in my body believe you will be one of the biggest artists in the world, you are too undeniable of a person not to become exactly who you aspire to be. When I started Live2 it was to tell the stories of those that would one day be considered the greats, and it lead me to you.

Here’s to being rockstar daydreamers & taking on whatever’s next for as long as we have the privilege of doing so!

when Perty asked me over a year ago if I wanted to executive produce his debut album, the answer was obvious.
watching this go from an idea in sessions to a full body of work has been insane. going from being an artist I was a fan of to becoming one of my best friends has been one of the most special parts of this journey. I don’t take the trust you’ve given me for granted, love you bro ❤️
