Ómun has a new Bandcamp page where you can stay informed of all the venues to come and also get some of the recordings and support the combo! Yay!

https://omun.bandcamp.com

link also in bio.

Ómun is the performance trio part of the Absolumont Collective. Ómun explores through improvised words and music, inventing its own stories and mythology. Drifting between English and Icelandic spoken word, the narratives unfold beneath the surface of ordinary reality, opening passages into more elusive spaces of consciousness.

Thank you to all the beautiful creatures who came by, shared a moment, wore the pieces and filled the night with so much good laughter and talk 🧡

Thanks @endurtakk for having SōngZhù and for displaying the best maximalist version inside of us, “more is more” 🧡

Thanks @olli_steini and @theoike for all of the support 🧡

We are now joining @oneonefourspace, you can come visit us there, a home for all kinds of possibilities and all kinds of beautiful talents 🧡

Ómun live @lifspekifelagid
Theosophical Society Reykjavik
this Friday the 25th of September for the equinox
22 Ingólfsstræti, 101 Reykjavik
followed by talk and coffee
free come and join us :)

Moonrise 18:49 → performance 19:00 → sunset 19:17 → twilight → near-full moon.

For an Absolumont performance, that’s almost suspiciously well timed: literally beginning during the brief interval when the near-full Moon has risen in the east while the Sun is still above the horizon in the west.

Born from over three decades of individual experimental practice in Icelandic poetry, spoken word, and atmospheric ritualistic music, the trio Ómun brings together Ásdís Sif (@asdissifstudio words/vocals), Nico Guerrero (@nic0guerrer0 guitar/electronics), and Tristan Zand (@zdrilx bowed bass) for a unique sonic pilgrimage.

Towards pagan legends and animistic rituals, Ómun explores through improvised words and music, inventing its own stories and mythology. Drifting between English and Icelandic spoken word, the narratives unfold beneath the surface of ordinary reality, opening passages into more elusive spaces of consciousness.

Familiar images slowly shift as intuition and symbolism replace linear logic, inviting the audience to wander through layered territories of memory, myth, and unresolved questions of existence. The music emerges from delicate acoustic textures. Guitar arpeggios and overtones unfold patiently while the bowed bass releases long, resonant tones that linger in the air.

Within this subtle sonic landscape, words appear, dissolve, and return, guiding the listener toward a space where sound and story move together.

A heartfelt thank you to @nordichouseiceland and to @mikaellindmusik for inviting Ómun to be part of this year's beautiful Pikknikk concert series in the Greenhouse 🌿
Beyond the glass, the lake shimmered. Inside, butterflies wandered through the flowers, bees traced their quiet rituals, and for a little while it felt impossible to tell where the sounds ended and the living world began.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who joined us, your listening completed the circle!
