Thank you so much to everyone who came out to my album release show. Special thanks to Truancy Club (Bret Koontz), Sponj (Kevin and TJ), Cafe Mustache, and the whole sea of timelines of people in my life who came out to support me that evening. And to everyone who bought the record — with extra-special thanks to Mitsubishi Corporation for making a defective Uni Posca paint pen that added to the hilarity of trying to sign albums.

Of course, thank you to my live band (Matt, Justin, and, of course, Will, who produced 「Social Touch」 and deserves seventeen statues in his honor), who helped put together such a tight show in such a short amount of time.

And in terms of the album itself, thank you to Zeetus Lapetus for the “Bed All Day” remix and S.J. for the backing vocal on the album closer, “Odd Radio Circle” — both of whom were in attendance that evening.

And thank you to Dipterid Records, once again, for their unwavering support.

The room was packed, several people confided in me that they’d been moved to tears, and after such a long time in stasis, returning to the stage and getting to celebrate songs from both 「Casino Wilderness Period」 and 「Social Touch」 was incredible. My mom even flew in for the show, and seeing how proud she was meant the world to me. I know it meant a lot to her in kind.

I’m still working my way through all the congratulatory messages, and at this point, my heart is full. I’m overwhelmed and overjoyed. This has been a long time coming. I love you all.

Here’s to the future.

What does the venue hosting our first event listen to? 👀🎧

We stopped by @cafemustache to talk music, community, and what makes the space special.

Cafe Mustache has been a Logan Square staple for years: part coffee shop, part bar, part venue, and exactly the kind of neighborhood gathering place we had in mind when starting Logan Square Listening Club. And in exactly two weeks, we’ll be there for our very first event! 🪩

At 7pm on Wednesday, September 9th we’ll be listening to Earth, Wind & Fire’s I Am front to back, with music from Chicago artists filling out the rest of the night. RSVP through the link in bio (admission is first come, first served).

Follow along for more Logan Square Listens episodes. We’ve still got plenty of the neighborhood to hear from.

TELL MAYOR BRANDON JOHNSON WE NEED CLEAN WATER!!

Recently, we got to sit with Faera of @southsidetogether to discuss the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP) Campus being built here on the Chicago Southside. The 9 BILLION DOLLAR facility that was APPROVED by our elected officials, Governor JB Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson will displace thousands of Black Chicagoans, contaminate OUR drinking water, AND cause major power outages for ALL of us by approximately 2029!! 1 BILLION of OUR tax dollars funds this as well!! Southside Together is hosting a Town Hall this Saturday August 15 from 12-2pm at Arnold Mireles Academy 9000 S Exchange Ave that Mayor Johnson is expected to attend. LET’S PACK IT OUT and let him know that we deserve transparency, clean drinking water, and that we won’t put up with this !!

Full Video will be presented live on 8/28 @cafe_mustache for the next iteration of It’s ShōTime Chicago!!
