A film poster is often our first encounter with a film. What happens when artists revisit it, reimagine it, and make it their own?

As part of the 30th European Film Festival in Lebanon, we present a new poster exhibition bringing together 17 visual artists, illustrators and designers, each offering their own interpretation of a poster from a landmark work of European cinema.

From Metropolis to In the Mood for Love, from La Dolce Vita to Wings of Desire, these reinterpretations bring together a wide-ranging collection of films, each seen through the individual perspective of a different artist. Moving between image, memory and imagination, the exhibition explores the art of the film poster and the many ways cinema continues to inspire new forms of visual expression.

We invite you to discover the exhibition, explore these personal reinterpretations, and see how each artist has approached the visual language of a film that has left its mark on cinema history.

Participating artists and the films they reinterpret:

Meet the artists of the Stickers Souk! Join us Saturday 29th from 5 till 11 at @zicohouseofficial !

@366daysinbeirut started as a personal challenge to draw one sticker every day for a whole year, a way to capture little moments, feelings, and bits of culture in playful, colorful designs. What began as a daily art practice has grown into a small business built on joy, creativity, and connection. While stickers are at the heart of what we do, 366 Days is expanding into new product lines that carry the same spirit of fun and self-expression, giving people even more ways to add personality to their everyday lives.

@mayanoise is a chef, wedding planner and aspiring illustrator. Her illustrations are a look into her messy mind. If there was a need to flee her house the first thing she would grab is her coveted sticker collection she’s garnered from local artists and abroad. Nobody touches that, but if you wanna trade stickers with her she’s more than happy and willing!!!

@pondsidecreations Ghida Nadar , also known as Gigi, her work varies from design to illustrations under 2 brands:
- 3al Lebnene posters, stickers, live drawing, event cards, book and mugs
- Pondside Creations Designs and illustrations

Maacaroun I’m a Lebanese illustrator and animator based in Beirut, with a love for designing characters. My work is inspired by the humor, contradictions, and everyday intensity of Lebanon, those moments that are at once absurd and deeply recognizable.
I often explore themes of identity, queerness, and memory, combining lighthearted visuals with layered stories. Alongside illustration and animation projects, I also teach, a role that allows me to share knowledge while encouraging experimentation and versatility in style.
