Voices of Denim — Afro Fashion Association × Levi’s.

An evening of creativity, community and stories told through denim. Seeing the projects exist beyond the idea, beyond the moodboard, and take its place in this space was incredibly special.

Grateful for the conversations, the people, and every hand that helped bring this vision to life.

From concept to creation, and finally to the room. There’s something about watching a project leave your hands and begin its own conversation.

Nine designers. Nine encounters with matter.

Across different histories, cultures and ways of making, each designer was asked to begin from the same place: the matter itself.

OPOS was the creative engine where the dialogue began. A curated selection of high-quality yarns, leathers and natural fabrics was exposed to ignite the conversation: natural, regenerated and sourced from production surplus — the material set the conditions, the designer determined what that could become.

From Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana and Morocco to Haiti, Cuba, Lebanon, Indonesia and Italy, Matter Matters brings different cultural perspectives into direct conversation with material knowledge, manufacturing and research.

A profound investigation into what deserves to be produced, how it should be made and how design can move beyond the prototype to enter a meaningful system of production and use.

The constraint does not end the creative process.
It opens it. An invitation: to consume less, to consume better.
