Women…

If you’re my age, somewhere in your twenties . 😋

We need to talk about CARBS.

For almost 19 years, I barely ate starch.
Not because I feared carbs. I just never liked bread or rice. Fruit was pretty much my main source.

And for years, that worked for me.

Until I started asking MORE from my body.

I’m a mother of two beautiful girls 💞
I lift heavy.
I want to keep my muscle, build more and keep getting stronger.

And I felt it in my damn bones:

If I’m going to train like this, I need to fuel like it.

When I moved into my 40s, I started digging deep into Dr. Stacy Sims’ work on female physiology, training and nutrition.

First for myself.
Then for every woman I coach and every woman around me trying to understand her changing body.

One message stuck:

Fuel the work you’re asking your body to do.

So a few months ago, I added sweet potatoes around my training.

And baby… I felt it.

More fuel.
Stronger sessions.
Better recovery.
Fuller muscles.

And no, I didn’t suddenly gain body fat.

Go back four months on my page. You tell me. 😉

Protein matters. A LOT.

But carbs help fuel hard training and replenish the glycogen our muscles use.

Especially 40+, maybe the answer isn’t always eating less.

Maybe it’s learning to fuel smarter.

19 years later…

I finally let the damn potato in.

I don’t know who needs this today…

But how much longer are you going to put everyone before yourself?

How much longer are you going to wait for the “right time” to finally choose you?

They taught women that getting older means becoming less…

Less beautiful.
Less valuable.
Less powerful.

But the truth is…

The older you get, the more you remember who you are.

You stop begging for space.
You stop explaining your worth.
You stop giving access to people who only know how to take.

Not everyone deserves your energy.
Not everyone deserves your softness.
Not everyone deserves a seat at your table.

One day you will look in the mirror…

And you will either meet the woman you fought for…

Or the woman you kept abandoning.

Choose her.
Choose you.

Because it is never too late to become the woman you were always meant to be.

They told us once you’re over 40, khalas, it’s game over. No more muscle, no more strength, no more changing your body.

Really?

Because last time I checked, I’m a mom over 40 and I’m still getting stronger.

Still lifting. Still pushing. Still proving people wrong.

Hormones change, yes. Life gets heavier too. Bas your body still listens to you if you stop making excuses and start showing up for yourself.

So no, it’s not too late. Not even close.

Your age is not the problem.
The problem is when you decide to give up on yourself.
