A time was HAD! Grateful for @nuffestival 🎥🇯🇲 and all the wonderful people there for the fun, the education, the inspiration. ✨ I literally laughed and cried (and criiiiied). I was filled with pride and excitement. I made so many powerful connection — with others and within my self. 🙏✨ So looking forward to next year. 🎉

SLIDES (for more thorough image descriptions please DM me):

1. Me and @charlb_art doing what we seem to do a lot together — smiling like the giddy kids we were when we first met waaaaaay back (or maybe smiling even more now!)
2. Me in front of one of NUFF’s great hand-painted signs
3. @oblessa @zenvixen and me squeezing and cheesing 🥰
4. Quiet time pattern rec on Negril’s strip
5. Me, @rawlinsnadean and @zenvixen advertising our excellent oral hygiene 😄😄😄
6. Watching @rawlinsnadean and @zenvixen’s moving and uplifting doc BOY, GIRL, AND ALL THE REST 🌈 💓
7. My lovely view of @the_truth876 @rawlinsnadean and @stormsaulter after Storm’s fantastic master class on ‘tropical noir’ filmmaking, featuring his phenomenal limited series POSSESSION (hitting HBO soon!) 🌟
8. Me and @damspoon_ of @thelabjamaica’s SURPRISE! I LOVE YOU 🎥
9. Me with Kanika Harris, PhD, MD, and the director of the incredibly powerful documentary LISTEN TO ME — a call to action “that centers the voices of Black women and birthing people as they navigate pregnancy, birth, and care in America.” A must-see that applies far beyond the bounds of the U.S., available now on @pbs
10. @damspoon_ and not me, definitely an imposter, because I would never behave this way 😌
11. Grammy-nominated @jesseroyal1 singing a beautiful song of love and encouragement to and with his beautiful daughter
12. A special message from Reggae Girl ⚽️ @den_den14 for NUFF attendees with audio from one saying what everyone should hear — go see their documentary REGGAE GIRLZ asap. Take your family and friends. And especially be sure your girls see it. We were blessed to see its premier and it was a major crowd-pleaser! 🌟
13. More of me and @zenvixen 😍 Can’t wait to act up with Maylynne again — hopefully on stage or screen too!!!

What a way to celebrate my first week back home 🥳🇯🇲✨

Apparently @dahliaharris never fails. She had us doubled over laughing in a packed house with her newest play, Hurricane Hataclaps.🌀💥 Not just laughing tho. We were feeling all the feels with four people ‘trapped’ 😉 in a small bar as Hurricane Melissa raged outside. Award-winning writer-director-actor Dahlia Harris adeptly treads a fine line between real tragedy and real comedy, showing where so much of the resilience of Jamaican people comes from.

I got on the phone this morning and my mom and I laughed as I recounted almost all of the play. 😂

The actors came in at 💯 and never let up. Dahlia, @zenvixen @tesfa_edwards and @iampukupoo took us on a wild ride of love, longing, ego, fear, encouragement and hope. Still smiling today and feeling so grateful to see creation in action, LIVE. What an honor! Hooray for artists! Hooray for theatre! More please! 🎭✨
