It was an amazing evening in Los Angeles hosted by @zeropluspublishing at @the_reef_la as they opened “ rep•re•sen•ta•tion “ . As soon as I arrived I met the amazing photographer @ying_with_the_camera / @untomedia and we began a photo shoot. Ying’s photos / video are featured in the first part of this reel. Her photo portrait work is also featured in the show. Also in attendance , model and designer @_teena__mariee_ from @sadgirlzclubla . The trip wasn’t possible without @_bexx who managed time, product and mapped out locations in the city of angels. Thank you Kirk Pederson and all those that came out . The parking lot was packed!

“𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘴, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸.”
~ 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘑𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘯

Losing my father and my best friend in the same year changed me in ways I’m still learning to understand. For a long time, the grief felt like something I would carry forever, and in many ways, I know I will. In my lowest moments I would have to remind myself that everything changes with time, even the deepest sorrow. It doesn’t mean I’ll ever stop missing them, or that it hurts any less, but eventually, I could feel the pain soften, making room for the love, memories, laughter, and lessons they left behind. And maybe that’s where the hope is. I know they’re gone, but what they gave me and the love we shared is something that will always remain and I’m so grateful for that.

The first image was a collaborative print made by SAC printmaking student Johan Gonzalez @printramics and me, Kirk Pedersen, last semester along with Marion @marion_draws and Laura @linocut_angel. This initial print is included in a two-person exhibition I have with Raymundo T. Reynoso @eyeone_sh at Claremont Graduate University opening on September 1 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

Raymundo has shown his art two times at the Diana Berger Art Gallery and the PERSPECTIVAS exhibition that included his art was written about by CGU Art Faculty David Pagel. As well, David has visited the SAC gallery several times bringing his MFA art students.

Please join us — all the art in the exhibition has never been shown. @cgumfa @cgumfa_alumni #painting #printmaking #mixedmedia #urbanart #urbanphotography
