OCCURRENCE #15 October 22–25 & 29–30 Tricia Stromberg Studio Theater 🎟️ Tickets on sale now at https://www.spectrumdance.org/occurrence-15 Photography by Jim Coleman For years, OCCURRENCE has served as Spectrum’s season-opening laboratory for artistic exploration—a series built around experimentation, play, and process, where Donald Byrd and the Company can test ideas, rework material, and follow unexpected directions before the work meets an audience. FREE PUBLIC PERFORMANCE 3-5PM TODAY @WALKDONTRUN_SEA a city stroll. a living gallery. a day for movement, art, and collective joy! 👆💨 swipe for early percolations in rehearsals around seattle! 👟💦 catch the groundswell 3-5pm 📍🍒 cherry st, between 1st + 2nd, right in front of our beloved @openpoetrybooks 🗺️🎊 see the map above for the full lineup of over 200 artists 11am-7:30pm 💭🗞️ links in bio to event info + our interview with @seattletimes “On Cherry Street in Pioneer Square, upward of 60 dancers from Undercurrent will roll into each other at a glacial pace, catching each other before they fall. At last year’s WALKDONTRUN, the experimental dance company slowly bear-crawled to a meditative soundscore to contrast the high-energy bustle of Pike Place Market, said Hilary Grumman, Undercurrent’s co-founder and co-artistic director. Some audience members who stayed to watch the performance — over two hours long — are now among those dancing with the group this year,” writes The Seattle Times. #publicart #seattleartists #walkdontrun #seattlelife

I was inspired to bring “Philomel” by Babbitt to life through live performance and dance, experimenting with a unique blend of music and movement. Here are photos from the show, made possible by collaborating with the dance department. Dance direction by Zhenya Ragulin. Link to the YouTube: https://youtu.be/64M3gxMN8oI?si=A3_PviYJL39uFugr

Gratitude. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person that made ANTHOLOGY possible - the company, the guest artists, the production team, the costumers, the administrative staff, the rehearsal directors, and the warm audiences. Cheers to Ursula & Caleb as they close an incredible chapter with the company. 💃🕺✨
