Spring cleaning day 3

As I’m getting back into DJing I’m more conscious of what brings me joy as a DJ. Sometimes I used to get so wrapped up in the transition that I didn’t look up and enjoy the moment I was creating. Excited to create more memories like these this spring🌱

.“Neural Degradation” is inspired by the cognitive dissonance caused by dementia. Dementia leads to a decline in cognitive function, affecting daily life. Due to the nature of the disease, it often remains undetected for many years. As it progresses rapidly, it leaves the person bodily present—a husk of flesh exhibiting erratic behavior and distant memories. Loved ones are left to watch and mourn someone who is physically present but no longer mentally there.

To convey this, I aimed to replicate the human form—what is familiar to the eye—while using unconventional patternmaking techniques to shape the garment. Fabric selection also plays a key role in narrating how the disease subtly eclipses both mind and body.
