MARVELOUSLY MODERN. I was sorting through the many images that my friends at @zielloinc sent me when I came across this terrific trio. I’ve always been partial to contemporary profiles and these three are no exception. What I especially enjoy is that Marlon, Elias and their gang of artisans fully embrace the concept of combination finishes at every turn. This can be especially daunting when finishing gilded frames but this creative crew is always up to the challenge!

“WHAT FLOATS YOUR ART WEEK.” ‘Fire-Engine Floater’ Friday! Let’s finish out our week of atypical float frames with this striking painted steel frame from my friends at @zielloinc. I think it was a year and a half back that I encountered this stunner on a visit to Ziello‘s Brooklyn Factory. I’ve been working with powder-coated metal frames for years. What I have rarely seen though is a painted steel frame with such depth of color that it could put any automobile finish to shame. Gorgeous!

TWO LINEAR FOR TUESDAY. I asked my friends at @zielloinc for a few photos of some left-of-center pieces in their collection. Elias sent me a bunch, but this contemporary duo is what immediately caught my attention. On quick glance, I thought they were step frame variants. Au contraire! I did a double take and realized the “steps” are actually raised linear elements. And then I studied that recessed key. What an unexpected but awesome detail!

CELEBRATING AMERICA’S 250th (Observed)! On this final day of Americana Week, I realized I still had a few redwhiteandblue faves I hadn’t shared yet. Let’s finish off our birthday weekend with this stunning array from some of my favorite closed-corner framemakers. Clockwise from bottom left: @wsgframes, @artisanframewerks1, @zielloinc and @houseofmercier / @mercierandres. Yes, these two gorgeous frames on the right are from HofM’s hand painted glass panel frame collection. Beautiful! 🇺🇸

We went as sleek and minimal as possible with an ultra-thin aluminum frame with a dark bronze-hued patina.

The patina perfectly complements the light in the photograph, creating a look that feels effortless and sharp.

Our selection of aluminum, steel, and bronze frames is the perfect choice for a modern, industrial aesthetic. Metal frames allow us to work creatively with color and texture, giving each piece a precise, elevated finish.

This still-life print is protected with Optium Museum Acrylic. In addition to clarity, protection, and shatter resistance, Optium also helps keep the weight down when paired with a metal frame.

“We interrupt our regularly scheduled America’s 250th post…” On this July 1st, the entire Frame Master Marketplace family (including my friends at @hbmpictureframe and @zielloinc) wishes our northern neighbors a very happy Canada 🇨🇦 Day (@canadaday)! Best. Neighbors. Ever.

Field trip to @zielloinc! ☀️

On one of the first nice days of spring, I took a stroll over the Brooklyn Bridge (which still always gives me that “pinch-me” moment) and went to pick out some frames for new floral works by @stephmonteith.

The Ziello team are so welcoming, thoughtful, and experts at their craft. Check out the finished products and visit our website to learn more about Stephanie Monteith’s artwork!

Link in bio! 🖤💎 Saturday, June 6th at 12pm and this print will officially be available at @louisbuhl in conjunction with Mickalene Thomas’ upcoming exhibition at the Shepherd, “Beneath the Moonlight.”

Before any print gets its final cut, every single one goes through a full inspection process. Tiny shifts, pinholes, registration, surface imperfections — we’re checking it all 👀

Shoutout to the magnetic wall built by @zielloinc 🧲✨ x ⚫💎

“FRAMES IN WHITE SATIN 🎶” My friends at @zielloinc will occasionally throw a few thematic samples together and send me a couple of pics. I kinds fell in love with this white assortment for two reasons. Firstly, I appreciate they are purposefully reinventing the Gerlach classics with contemporary finishes. Secondly, I’m diggin’ the bold white / leaf combinations they’re creating. Ziello is definitely one closed-corner frame maker to keep an eye on!
