This specialist equipment is vital to help Jane’s brain link back with the nerves and muscles. This is what we spend a lot of the GoFundMe money on as we can’t get this treatment on the NHS and I feel we have to do this to give Jane a chance of recovery. The NHS physios we also see each week are also brilliant though … tough but motivational. Thank you to everyone who has helped … we couldn’t have got this far without you ❤️

We filmed today for the BBC which will be shown on the BBC Breakfast Show on Monday. To be honest, it was quite difficult and emotional reeling what’s happened and what we now face. We talked about how we met, our dance career, Jane’s stroke, and what life is like now while running a dance school. It was to raise awareness of the lack of funding for people who need care … not just for people like us, but also for the thousands of people who are in an even worse situation.

I took Jane to the hairdressers today for the first time since her stroke. With multiple operations and trauma and scars to her head, it’s taken a long time for her hair to grow which is still very short in places and her many medications have also affected the density but… I dyed her hair a lighter colour yesterday, where we fought, battled & sweated over the process for nearly 3 hours (where I got accused of soaking her knickers in the wet room in the process!) and took her to Wow Hair today for a cut and blow by the lovely Polly. I think she looks beautiful ❤️

Jane continues to battle to try and walk again with your help. She has 5 physio sessions each week paid for using the money from her GoFundMe page. Her 24 hour live in carer is paid for by using her pension fund. Both funds are quickly running out and I don’t know what we will do when that’s all gone, but for now, we are still pushing ahead with everything we’ve got. On 19th August we will film for BBC Breakfast to highlight the lack of funding available for people like Jane.
Today we also finalised our wills & documented our wishes which was a little sad but necessary.
Life continues to be a daily battle but your love and support has kept us going & we are so deeply thankful to you all for that - the flowers, gifts, donations, even just little messages or simply a heart…it lets us know you are behind us. We will never forget those that helped us. ❤️

I’m Interested to hear your thoughts about what we experienced today after Jane’s 2 hour intense Neuro physio session. On the way back we stopped at The Cross Inn at Wall Heath owned by JD Wetherspoon situated between Stourbridge & Wolverhampton for brunch. Having parked the car, we went through the process of getting the wheelchair out of the boot, then getting out and assembling the Mo- Lift to enable Jane to get from the car into her wheelchair, then attaching footplates, leg brace & shoulder support, then dismantling the Mo- Lift before storing it back in the car. There was no disabled entrance at the back so we walked across the car park & around to the main road to the main door. Myself & Jane then moved our way through the pub and customers to where the outside seating area was as it was warm & sunny. There weren’t many people sat outside and the majority of the tables were empty. Jane’s carer (Sue) had her little dog (Poppy) with her & not wanting to leave her in a hot car, she had brought her to sit with us in the outside seating area at the back of the pub. 3 staff then besieged us to tell us that no dogs were allowed and asked us to leave. I could understand had this been inside but the staff approach felt forceful, unsympathetic & overly strict and I felt they acted like a ‘jobsworth’. It felt a little embarrassing to have to leave and weave our way back through the pub & customers & then to go through the process of getting Jane back into the car who was exhausted from her physio session. I appreciate they can make their own rules & we have to abide by them (which we did) but it left a bad taste in the mouth especially with the discourteous attitude of the staff.
We therefore went to Evoke Coffee at Penn who not only welcomed Poppy, but also brought her a water bowl & served an excellent brunch with a smile. Thanks guys ❤️@evokecoffeelounge

31 years married today - 42 years together and I’m prouder of Jane now than any other time of our lives. I really don’t know how she survived & I don’t know how she has the courage to keep going still. If you knew the pain & suffering she endures daily you would share my amazement. We’ve had our fair share of ups & downs, dramas & arguments over the years, but we never gave up & we’ve always found a way through it because we’ve held onto a base line of love & care for each other no matter what the storm. Today on our anniversary I’m especially thankful she put up with me through the years, tolerated me, understood me, forgave me & loved me … so that I’m here today to care for her and hold her hand through her own incomprehensible storm.

I’ve found out what caused Jane’s stroke. You will be very surprised and this video is to warn others & to be aware of possible signs.
It was the perfect storm!
However, these are not facts confirmed by a doctor but my own personal findings in light of no other explanation coming to light for Jane’s stroke so anyone concerned should always consult their own doctor. The information about Crohn’s & Shingles I took from the internet which I feel fits in with Jane’s situation. My aim is to raise awareness of possible links.
Jane is continuing to work hard at her physio in her 5 sessions per week. It’s very painful for her and she doesn’t like it but it’s necessary. The team of physios from both the NHS and @completeneurorehab have all been absolutely amazing with her. I’m so grateful for their determination to improve her.
