Would you trade in pumping over head hurricane swell surf for a fun longboard session on a 2-3’ wave that only breaks once every 5 years?

This past weekend we scored LA’s rarest wave.
I have been studying this wave for the past 10-12 years…
Anytime it’s hot potential I check it, and typically it doesn’t work.
-
I’ve only seen it rideable 2-3 times in the past 10 years.
And have surfed it a couple of times solo but only shin high.
This weekend was different.
-
Pure unadulterated stokage with just 5 fellow frothers.
And the next day it was gone!
@bengravyy you’d be all over it!

Did you Know, in the state of California alone 5.4 million tons of plastic go into California landfills each year.
To put that into perspective:

* 5.4 million tons = about 10.8 billion pounds of plastic annually.
* That’s roughly 277 pounds of plastic landfilled per Californian every year.

And much of that contributes to a bigger problem that’s been plaguing our Oceans.
An estimated 33 Billion tons of plastic trash enter our ocean every year. That’s two full garbage trucks every minute!

Now add to that the volume of non recyclable manufacturing waste generated by our favorite fantastic plastic machine- the #surfboard and we just aren’t doing our planet ANY favors.

Approximately 5–8 million pounds (2,300–3,600 metric tonnes) of surfboard manufacturing waste are generated in the United States each year.

I launched the Zero Waste initiative 9-10 years ago to create a solution for upcycling surfboard production waste, we have now paired that with The ReUp Our Ocean Project to create a serious solution to OUR plastic Pollution Problem.

For the first time ever we are launching a fun #giveaway contest to celebrate scaling up this rad program.
