Next time you’re in Southern Utah, do NOT skip driving the scenic Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway (SR-9). 🚘✨ Passing through the historic 1.1-mile tunnel to get to the Canyon Overlook Trail is pure magic.
🏜️ Utah Local Tip: Skip the summer crowds and the blinding heat! We call Fall through Spring “Desert Season” around here.
When the summer rush clears out, the temperatures drop and all those beautiful, full-sun hikes become perfect. Living here in Hurricane, Utah, we get near-perfect weather for 9 to 10 months out of the year—but “Desert Season” is truly elite. 🧡🥾

Yosemite current conditions
October 18, 2026.

Happy to collaborate with @zionconcierge in the early autumn season in Yosemite.

While the autumn colors are starting to pop, the true peak season hasn't arrived just yet. In 2-3 weeks, vibrant yellows and oranges will emerge, particularly along the banks of the Merced River.

Ps: First time seeing a coyote twice in one day in Yosemite.

Take it from me, your Zion Local Guide…

1. Zion is incredible, but navigating crowds, shuttle system, and strict operational zones can be overwhelming for visitors at times. I know exactly when to arrive at the trailhead
bottlenecks to beat the morning rush, how to bypass the standard tourist traps, and where to find the park’s lesser-known viewpoints that most travelers miss entirely.

2. No two groups are the same. Whether guiding a family looking for a leisurely, scenic stroll or a high-energy group seeking an intense bucket-list trek, I tailor every excursion to fit the specific fitness levels and goals of my clients. I take care of all the background details, gear, shuttle, and drive time information so our guests can spend less time worrying about logistics and more time taking in the views.

3. Terrain like The Narrows requires constant awareness of changing weather patterns, flash flood risks, and heat management. Even each singular step requires a technical awareness. My deep familiarity with Southern Utah’s unique sandstone landscape and local microclimates ensures that every decision made on the trail puts client safety and comfort first, providing peace of mind in high-stakes environments.

4. A great hike becomes unforgettable when you understand the land beneath your feet. I bring the canyon to life by sharing the fascinating geological history of how these sheer sandstone walls were formed, alongside stories of the Indigenous peoples and early homesteaders who shaped the region. I don’t just show clients the trail; I connect them to the spirit of Zion.

5. My role as a guide doesn’t end when we leave the trail. Because I know the local area inside and out, I act as a full-service resource for our guests. I consistently provide trusted, insider recommendations for the best places to eat, budget-friendly unique hidden stays in the nearby town of Hurricane, and secondary outdoor adventures companies. @tourzionandbryce 🫶

Taking our kids to National Parks is also a way of showing them what’s worth standing up for. 🌿

A canyon holds millions of years of Earth’s history. An ancestral dwelling holds human stories that deserve to be understood and respected. The lands within park boundaries hold enduring connections for Indigenous communities. And the wildlife we’re excited to see depends on these habitats being protected.

I want our kids to understand that none of this is simply scenery.

People advocated for these places. People devoted their lives to studying them, caring for them, and protecting them for generations they would never meet.

Now we have a responsibility to carry that care forward.

When decisions about funding, staffing, and conservation affect our parks, paying attention matters. So does teaching our kids that protecting these places takes more than admiring a beautiful photograph.

Seeing them in person can turn “somewhere on a map” into somewhere they care about. Somewhere they remember. Somewhere they might someday speak up for.

For our family, “Leave No Trace” has become part of everyday life. We say it at the beach, on walks, and when we’re picking up after ourselves. That little phrase is one way these trips keep shaping how we treat the world around us.

You can begin close to home, in whatever outdoor place your family can reach.

Their history deserves to be understood.
Their beauty deserves to be experienced.
Their future deserves to be protected. 🤍

Save this as a reminder to explore—and care for—these places together.

If you live in St. George, Zion National Park is practically in your backyard.

And if you’ve never hiked Angels Landing… add it to your bucket list.

Incredible views, massive red cliffs, and a hike that makes you feel like you’re on top of the world.

And I’m not gonna lie there are some sketchy parts but it’s totally worth it.

We did angels landing a couple days ago and it took us about two hours.

You definitely need a permit for the chain section, but it’s pretty easy to get.

And with views like this, it’s definitely worth it.

One of the coolest parts about living in Southern Utah is having places like this just 45 minutes away.
