A place for the collection. A presence in the room.

A humidor cabinet can be as much a part of an interior’s character as the furniture surrounding it.

Here, warm wood tones, stone panels, dark accents, and fine gold detailing give the cabinet a distinctive presence against classic wall mouldings. Natural light, soft upholstery, and greenery bring balance to the setting, while the ashtray and books on the coffee table add a personal layer.

Beyond its appearance, a humidor’s purpose remains preservation. Stable humidity, thoughtful organisation, and proper monitoring are what turn a beautiful cabinet into a suitable home for a cigar collection.

For A Cigar Advocate, design and cigar culture share an appreciation for materials, craftsmanship, and considered details.

Would you make your humidor a focal point or integrate it quietly into the room?

Follow A Cigar Advocate for more on cigar storage, craftsmanship, and the spaces surrounding the ritual.

This custom cigar cabinet is more than a storage piece — it’s a statement in craftsmanship, intention, and timeless design.

Thoughtfully built from the ground up, this fully bespoke unit was created for a client who values both function and beauty at the highest level. The exterior is crafted from American walnut in a rich black-stained finish, giving the cabinet a deep, sophisticated presence while still allowing the natural character of the wood to remain visible.

Hidden within the crown is a discreet concealed compartment, seamlessly integrated into the overall design. The recessed panels are detailed with solid brass inlay, precisely set using 1/4” x 1/2” brass, adding warmth, contrast, and a strong architectural presence.

The side panels are wrapped in vegetable-tanned calfskin leather with a distressed finish and raised diamond stitching, introducing texture, depth, and a sense of character that makes the piece feel truly one-of-a-kind.

Inside, the cabinet is lined with 5/8” solid boards of kiln-dried Spanish cedar, selected for both its beauty and its performance. The interior front edges are beveled to create a precise seal when the door closes, helping maintain the proper environment for cigar storage. A built-in humidification system is seamlessly integrated into the cabinet to maintain ideal relative humidity and temperature, while all wiring is thoughtfully concealed so nothing interrupts the clean, refined appearance of the piece.

At A Cigar Advocate Inc., we specialize in creating fully custom pieces around the individual needs and vision of each client. From custom sizing and functionality to material selection, finishes, and color matching, we’re able to tailor each project to the space, aesthetic, and intended use.

This is one of those projects we’re especially proud of — a piece where craftsmanship, material, and functionality all come together in a way that feels deliberate from every angle.

If you’re considering a custom build project of your own, you can reach out through the custom build form on our website. We’d be happy to learn more about what you’re looking to create and explore how we can bring that vision to life.
