The relationship I have with where I live tells me about the relationship I have with myself. I see where my fears are, my hesitation, my judgment.. and also where my passion is, my drive, my creativity and my love for life.

I've been following the full moon since the beginning of this year. There is a build up leading to the day of. More of a focus and planning that builds up in order to merely photograph it.

The journey though, is a trip. It helps me witness in detail what elements guide me and protect me along the way. The planning creates experiences I know I wouldn't have had otherwise.

This time around I was in Jerusalem, just finished dancing and singing in the old city. I scouted some spots before and trust I will find the right spot. It was not far from Isawiya, an Arab town on the eastern side if the city.

A couple guys came to check out what I was photographing. I was alert and honestly quite scared. I was holding old stories mixed with unbalanced exposure to political nonsense. I chose to dismantle it on the spot.

Muhammad who came over brought his baby girl with him. Another guy came to see what app I was using to track the moon's path. It was a gift. A blessing, not in disguise. A chance to bring the common denominator of humanity back to the game, the common denominator of art.

From a heart rushing on fear it changes into slower heartbeats of remembering that we're just humans who want and are are allowed to be happy.
