Not all pimple patches are created equal 👀🧡

As an esthetician, I love finding skincare products that go beyond the basics!

@zitsticka KILLA patches use 24 self-dissolving microdarts to deliver ingredients like salicylic acid, niacinamide & hyaluronic acid directly to those deep, brewing pimples BEFORE they come to the surface.

Because we all know that one pimple you can FEEL coming before you can see it 😭

These were gifted to me to try, and I’m excited to give these the Skinnie Hippie stamp of approval!

✨ ZitSticka KILLA Kit ✨
☆Each patch carries 24 microdarts made largely of hyaluronic acid, the same moisture binding molecule found in serums. When pressed onto a forming pimple, the darts painlessly slip into the top layer of skin and dissolve there, releasing their actives below the surface.
☆Salicylic acid is oil soluble, so it moves through the sebum inside a clogged pore and loosens the dead cells and oil that feed a breakout. Niacinamide calms the redness and inflammation that make early pimples sore and swollen. Oligopeptide-76 is a peptide included to target acne causing bacteria and help stop a spot from fully forming. Hyaluronic acid keeps the area hydrated, so the treated skin stays comfortable instead of dry and flaky.
☆The included CLEANA swabs remove oil and residue before application, which helps the patch adhere firmly and the darts make clean contact with the skin. Wearing the patch for six hours or overnight gives the darts time to fully dissolve and release their ingredients.
☆Best for deep, early stage pimples you can feel forming, painful under the skin bumps.

These are a few of my favourite things … when it comes to skincare

Most of these have been tried and true for years but if something works, why change it?

Picking that pimple may feel satisfying in the moment… but your skin may pay for it later. 👀

When you squeeze or pick an inflamed pimple, you can rupture the follicular wall and push sebum, keratin, inflammatory cells, and bacteria into the surrounding skin. That can trigger more inflammation, redness, swelling, and tissue injury—and potentially create an entry point for bacteria.

And for skin of color, there’s another concern: more inflammation can mean a greater risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark marks) and, in some patients, scarring.

So what should you do instead?

✨ Cover it. Don’t pick it.

A pimple patch or silicone patch can act as a physical barrier between your fingers and the lesion, helping discourage picking, reduce friction and manipulation, and protect the area while it heals.

Think of the patch as a little reminder: hands off! 🙅🏾‍♀️

The goal isn’t just to get rid of the pimple—it’s to avoid turning one pimple into more inflammation + a longer-lasting dark mark or scar.

Save this for the next time you feel tempted to pick! 🫣

Think every pimple patch works the same? Think again. 👀

Pimple patches are great for protecting blemishes and discouraging picking, but many don’t contain active ingredients to help target the breakout itself. 🧬

If you’re looking for more than just a protective patch, check the ingredient list for salicylic acid and azelaic acid - they can make all the difference.

Save this for your next skincare shopping trip. 💙
