@locus.my revamps it’s à la carte menu, with new additions like the steak au poivre with turmeric and fluffy potatoes, handmade pasta, and seaweed bread. For dessert, try the rotating ice cream sundae (ours was ginger, cinnamon, and star anise-spiced, reminiscent of tong sui) as well as a cake inspired by @limhengkit’s time at @benshewry’s @atticamelbourne in Melbourne.

In our June/July issue of @esquiremalaysia, we speak to three Malaysian restaurateurs about the lessons they’ve learned in this tough industry.

In this instalment, Lee Ziyan (@zlee_yan) talks to us about how their café @provisionsmy—a neighbourhood favourite—has built resilience over the years, after opening shortly before the Covid lockdown.

There’s a new spot to linger a little longer on unhurried afternoons, and it’s the @locus.my Pantry! By day, the space transforms into a cosy nook perfect for snacking on light bites while discovering a curated mix of local goods. On our first visit, we sampled a selection of house-made drinks and pastries, with the butter mochi standing out for its satisfyingly chewy texture.

Locus Pantry is open from Wednesday to Sunday (12pm to 3pm), for walk-ins only.

Welcome to the @locus.my Pantry, the restaurant’s new daytime offering where you can stock up on artisanal pantry goods, then sit and relax with a coffee and some pastries whiling the morning away. Beyond coffee, Locus Pantry also plans to have a lunch option (surprise of the day!) where chef @limhengkit will cook up the day’s freshest produce and pantry items into a hearty lunch.

A new chapter unfolds at @locus.my — introducing Locus Pantry! A thoughtfully curated space for pantry essentials, light bites, and easy drinking (both caffeinated and not).

From the pantry, we spotted local artisanal producers like @oylhaus Kulim Oil, @chocconcierge, alongside handmade ceramics, imported tinned fish and more.

Drop by from 12pm (Wed–Sun) for daily sourdough, Gula Apong tarts, Butter Mochi, or something simple like house bread (RM12) with whipped honey butter (RM6) or roselle jam (RM4). There’s also a rotating charcuterie (MP), best enjoyed with drinks built on house-made elements like orange oil, pandan syrup, and fermented lemon.

Drinks we had:
– Mont Blanc (RM18): 24-hour cold brew, orange, vanilla, cocoa
– Pandan Matcha (RM18): matcha, pandan, coconut, citrus
– Gula Apong Honey Latte (RM18): 24-hour infusion, gula apong, black tea
– Lemonade Enzyme Coffee (RM19): cold brew, lemon ferment, citrus peel
– Sparkling Passionfruit Curry (RM20): passionfruit, chilli, curry leaf, paprika salt

Layered, familiar, and made for everyday moments — whether you’re stocking up or slowing down.

🕛 Wed–Sun, 12pm–3pm (Sunday Usual brunch menu available)

An honour to be part of @barfabric Malaysia launch ✨ Grateful to CK @koolershaker and Terence @terencet2k for trusting @setthetables to help bring this to life - co-organising, hosting and moderating the restaurant panel, taking in thoughtful, incredible insights from Marcus @mylow86 @tableandapron , Sarah @sarahtanweiling @honeyintherockpj and Sombir @chefsombir @soka_blr

Huge shoutout to Tien @chewonthis_podcast for leading the drinks panel, and to all our industry friends who showed up and showed love — thank you! 💚

At its heart, Bar Fabric is simple: a gathering for the hospitality community. A space where bartenders, chefs, operators, and friends come together to connect, exchange ideas, and celebrate what drives our scene.
