I love taking something designed to suit a certain style, workflow or sound and bending it to suit something different.

Here's the wonderfully chaotic Trepanator from @zlobmodular which is far from an on the grid, triggered, techno style thing but with patching it fits into making chaotic and characterful riffs and phrases that dance around a solid on the grid rhythm.

It's doing everything but the kick and hi hats here. Find this example in the Trepanator demo video on the @divkidvideo YouTube channel.

Some recent activity here @bark_bark_dog_studios. I've been listening a lot to @taylor12k 's output and love the way tiny, degraded melodic fragments can sustain entire pieces. This resonates with me particularly in my recent work with cassette tape loops, dictaphones and consumer reel to reel devices.

I've also been building and working with a number of @djupvikselektronik, @zlobmodular and @nonlinearcircuitsandrew's modules chasing a means to obscure melodies in meaningful washes of noise, allowing them to hide just beneath the surface (or Beneath the Bush of Ghosts if you will).

I recently got the full kit for this wonderful lofi quad sampler from @asplundcircuits and this is the result of the first patch.

A hazy Saturday morning floating piece of barely remembered melody washed in samples of noise and feedback.

Have a lovely day.

Polivoks Filtered Feedback Chaos 9.29.2026
Chaos circuits, feedback circuits, tube amplifier, soviet filter, and simulated tape delay. Headphones recommended for full frequency range and stereo FX 🎧

Two flavors of Triple Cap Chaos noise. X "windy sinusoidal" output gated by Tube VCA, feedback added, triggered by Skew-Fade LFO pulse output. Filtered by Polivoks filter, with original russian ICs. Y "squared off aggressive" output MinEQ blasted highs and lows, feedback added, manually triggered by a Tidbit Momentary Switch. Filtered by Polivoks filter. Polivoks filter cutoff and resonance modulated by Diode Chaos X and Z, respectively. Disting on the D2 Tape Delay algorithm. I'm manually adjusting attenumixer levels, modulating tape speed with Skew-Fade's Ramp and Fade outputs. I remove the cable from Fade input and insert into Triple Cap Chaos cv in, muffling the sound. Finally, I manually close the Polivoks filter.

I'm playing a show tomorrow, so instead of doing the sane thing and, y'know, practicing, I decided to spend seven hours building some new modules from kits so I can reconfigure my entire setup to incorporate them at the last second. BECAUSE THE THIRST OF THE CHAOS DEMONS MUST BE SLAKED.
