Chapter 27: Dancing, Running, Raves and friendships

That was a fun rotation around the sun for me tbh. A lot of things were accomplished and many memories were made, some good, some bad, some great and some devastating… but in the end everything has a reason 😄

Accomplishments:
⭐️I left behind closed some doors and opened new doors
⭐️I picked up Bachata and stuck with it for a year
⭐️I completed a Spartan Trifecta (5k, 10k & 21k)
⭐️I made a lot of friends I hold close to my heart
⭐️I got promoted at work
⭐️I improved significantly in Spanish

⭐️🇲🇽Biggest Accomplishment: accepting myself for my heritage and not pretending to be something that I’m not when it comes to ethnicity. To not let others make me feel bad for not being something else and that I’m good enough. I have all my Mexican & Peruvian friends to thank me for reminding me that! 🇵🇪⭐️

Overall; it was definitely a year of trial and error, a lot more positives than negatives but crucial lessons learned. Life doesn’t always give you redos and I don’t have any regrets on how things played out. I appreciate everyone who is still in my life and are part of my journeys 😊

Thank you everyone who has wished me a Happy Birthday! It’s been a wild year indeed with plenty of highs and lows. I got to see my family in Mexico and get in touch with my roots while partying at Mexico! I somehow was blessed with two amazing dogs! I got promoted at my job and got to do something I love doing! I went on a fun memorable trip to Vegas with my close friends! I got to celebrate the holidays with close friends and come back around to celebrating my birthday with an even bigger party! I’ve made plenty of memories with friends and family this past year and had plenty of laughs and loving memories!

Although I’ve lost a few friends along the way, I’ve gained new ones as well in my journeys. I’m not perfect at all, and I’ve definitely made mistakes this past year but I’m definitely learning more about myself and how to grow as a person. I’ve been going to therapy, managing my weight-loss in a healthier way and even picked up a few new hobbies such as Bachata!

I’m grateful for everyone who I’ve met up to this point and help me develop into who I am now and shape me for the future as to who I want to be for my 27th year onwards!

Here’s a little poem I made when I was going through it:
“When Summer’s joy felt delight
So did our friendship felt just right

With Autumns chill did fell unseen
A divided space left in between

Frozen Winter winds crept without a sound
Bonds shattered thought unbound

Spring comes with hope in sight
New friendships bloom in the light

like the cycle of the seasons
The story of my life continues for a reason”
- something I thought of in my car one day.

Just over a week ago on 11/18, students in our Rocket Design project capped off their semester at launch day!

17 teams comprised of 68 students launched and recovered the rockets that they worked hard to design, simulate, and build over the semester.

We are so proud of them for the incredible work they've put out over the past 8 weeks and can't wait for them to join us in the spring to earn L1 High Power Rocketry certifications!

Next up for your project officers is Rocket League! This is a sequential project in which students will learn everything from the fundamentals of rocket science to designing, simulating, building, launching, and recovering their very own model rocket! Those who wish to continue their rocketry journey may opt into our L1 Workshop during the spring where they will design their own high-powered rocket for industry certification! Here are your leads...
