family. that’s what 3 years of being on this track team brought me. track brought me a new family and a place to call home. we may not have all known each other before the seasons began but once we did we all treated each other like siblings. we were stuck together 5-6 days a week and on weekends spent our Saturdays all together from sun up to sun down. coaches acted as our parents and we all came to track to work but also to have fun. track was a sport i told myself i would never do and never would want to do but wow was i wrong. track may not have been the sport i played my whole life but it played a significant role in the person and athlete i have become today. i already miss those 200 block start workouts. i miss the feeling of getting in the blocks, shaking, hearing my heart beating out of my chest at the start line. some of these moments from my past 3 seasons are ones i will never forget. i’ll miss my pre practice debrief with emma and jade!! being on this track team has truly been one of the greatest experiences of my life and it’s been so hard to have to say goodbye to it. i love my track family so much and will forever miss my 4x100 team and getting to be there starter for the past 3 years. i can’t wait to see what these girls do next season!!
