with the banquet done, my high school tennis career is officially over. i couldn’t be more grateful for the sport and the people it helped me to connect with. thank you to my teammates and family for supporting me through every match and tournament. thank you to kale and markgraf for helping me work hard to get to the spot i am today, and for always encouraging me and making me laugh. and of course thank you to tennis for giving me an escape from everything else going on in my life. i genuinely don’t know how i would’ve gotten through high school without this sport. trying out for the team is one of the best decisions i’ve ever made. tennis was my light over the past four years. i cannot even recognize the player i was my freshman season. i am so proud of how far i’ve come and i’m excited to see where i will go in the future ❤️🎾

Year 4

Every year, I am blown away by how much this group gives me. This year was no exception. Starting with becoming an officer, and then a section leader - my perception of what it means to be a member of this group, my section, and a leader overall has developed past what I could have predicted. Personally, I take an immense amount of pride in being in the Tiger Band. As cheesy as it sounds, I feel so much responsibility in the fact that there is a legacy to uphold and continue, and I went into this year intentionally with that mindset. Being section leader made me have to dig deep into my problem solving abilities and made me so much more grateful for what my leaders in the past have done. And frankly, I do want to give credit for the achievements of myself, my rookies, and my section to those in the past, because none of this would have been able to happen without each imprint made by every single person. I am infinitely proud of my section for what we have been able to foster and create in terms of sound, visuals, and most importantly, bonds. I truly do have another family I know I can go to whenever I need it, and it’s nothing short of a blessing that I ended up here. I am also so proud of the group that everyone has made this year, because if this continues I can only see upward growth. It has been a privilege to be a squad leader, a section leader, an officer, but most of all: a member. If I had nothing else to my name in this group, I would feel just as satisfied knowing I had this experience. It’s something I know my heart will ache for in the future, but I will always look back on it fondly. Thank you to everyone who has made this year, and all years past, so amazing. I could not have asked for a better 4 years than these ones.
