Hi, my name is Shelby. 🤍
I’ve been a photographer for almost 10 years now, and I still can’t believe I get to say that. I remember being a sophomore in high school, picking up a camera and realizing that photography was the art medium I wanted to pursue for the rest of my life. I had no idea where it would take me or how much it would become a part of who I am.
In 2020, I started my own business, Images by Shelby, and began college to pursue photography as a career. I graduated with my associate degree in 2022, and along the way, I’ve been lucky enough to work with so many of my friends, meet incredible new people, and capture so many important moments.
From my very first senior session to photographing my first wedding this year, every opportunity has taught me something and brought me a little further than where I started.
Now, I’m continuing toward my bachelor’s degree and stepping into a completely new chapter of my photography journey: sports.
Getting the opportunity to work in sports has shifted something in me. For the first time, I feel like I’m not just taking pictures because I love photography I’m building the career I’ve always wanted for myself.

I finally got some time to sit down and make a scrapbook with all the photos from Basic Babe’s grand opening. Looking back at this day still doesn’t feel real.

I cried multiple times because everything came together exactly how I had dreamed it would. Funny enough, I ended up doing the entire grand opening with no makeup because people started coming in before I even had the chance to get ready.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported me, shopped, shared a kind word, or has been cheering me on. This was one of the best days of my life, and I’m so grateful I got to share it with all of you. This is only the beginning.
