If you had told the little girl who raised her hand eagerly to play a position she had never played that she would lead her team as a goalie on a collegiate level, she would probably just ask what snack she was getting after the game. What a crazy adventure it has been, from stumbling in the goal to becoming someone’s last defense. I am beyond blessed that God has let me get this far, and even more blessed to have people backing me. From my after-game snacks, personal trainer, roaring fans, equipment fixers, and bandaid placers, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Taking off the gloves for the final time was heavy, but I am satisfied and proud to see that I made it this far. Thank you again for being there, cheering me on, training me, fixing my injuries, comforting my losses, and picking me up after a fall. I am ready for my next adventure in life! One takeaway from being a goalie is that you can get knocked down time and time again, but you get up even stronger!
