Not only was our DJ 101 SPIN Sessions x SEATTLE CREATES [@seattle_creates] at Jet City Labs a super dope time, BUT we also got to press some tees that our very own graphic designer, Zoe Crago [@thatzoegrl] created to bring our core mantra to life: ARTISTS GOTTA EAT. When I dreamt up a naming convention for this series three years ago, I knew the brand mark had to do three things: 1. Build notoriety around Seattle’s badass local creatives 2. Integrate some subliminal messaging 3. Tell a story in two words The letters ‘E-A-T’ show up twice—by design—in both words: S(EAT)TLE CR(EAT)ES because it’s worth saying twice—no more starving artists. Starting my day off right with this 🔥smoking hot🔥 group of talented creatives—thank you @tenthouze for the 💯📸👌🏼. This crew absolutely crushed the @seattle_creates session producing a live fashion photoshoot demo executed in front of a live audience of high school students as part of @seattlececd #creativeeconomy Career Day at McCaw Hall. Our goal: cross-examine the intricate + interdisciplinary roles of the various leads who define creative roles on a shoot WHILE breaking down the business deliverables behind a shoot AND educating why we create + produce consumer digestible assets for the fashion industry—or any industry for that matter—in the first place through the lens of a bigger picture psychological movement.
