@bushwickfilmfest was an utter blast!

Honored the @thefirstyear_shortfilm was screened, and honored to have been among the other shorts in our block. So many incredible filmmakers doing sensitive, hilarious, artful, thoughtful work.

Grateful to share that THE FIRST YEAR is screening at the Bushwick Film Festival! 🎬 @bushwickfilmfest

Yaakov and Breindy are headed to cool Brooklyn (a part of Brooklyn they've likely never visited before, from the shtetl Flatbush).

Introducing the Academy’s Intern Short Film Spotlight! This month, we’re highlighting Ruby Price (2025 Summer Camp Intern)!

Ruby Price is a student director and cinematographer based in Syracuse, NY. She is currently working towards a BFA in the Film Conservatory at Purchase College and a former Summer camp Intern at American High. She collaborates often with other emerging filmmakers within the camera and production design departments. Because of her experience in these areas, her films are rich in visual storytelling and fun, textured environments.

Ruby’s Junior Thesis “Dollhouse” explores how female friendships behave amid the ritual that is a high school prom. With this piece she aims to “foster a world where teenage girls can expose their imperfect desires and to shine light on the discomfort within a polished facade”.

Written / Directed / Edited - Ruby Price @ruby__price
Producer - Alexa Cuozzo @beatboxgf
DP - Zoi O’leary @zoioleary

Starring:
Zoe Ritz @zoeeritz
Elizabeth Cuite @elizabethcuite
Cassius Hatosy @cassiushatosy
Em Rose Stern @emrosestern
Nora Nilsen Healy @noranilsenhealy
Heschel Bay @heschelbay

Thank you for all your hard work over the summer, Ruby!! Can’t wait to see what you do next :) Go support this film and all the talented students behind it!
