What a weekend!!! 🥹❤️ My heart is SO full.

I can’t even begin to express how much gratitude I have for everyone who stopped by the KAIJU booth this weekend at POP Cats. The conversations, the energy, the love, and the support had me grinning from ear to ear all weekend.

You all are seriously THE BEST. 🫶🏽

Thank you for making this such an incredible weekend. We’re already looking forward to next year! Until then, we’ll keep creating, sewing, and bringing you more KAIJU goodness. 🇯🇵

Arigato Gozaimasu!!! 🫶🏽

“Recovering the Lost Words” by David Cook, Emily Hansen, Helen Hartman, Danny Martin, Marsha Riti, Emma Schmidt, Anja Thomsen, CJ Williams, “Little Memories ” by Zoee Xiao and “The Classroom” by Darla Barolini, are currently on display at the Julia C. Butridge Gallery.

Save the date to hear from the artists as they discuss the concepts, materials, and processes behind their exhibitions on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 7–9 p.m.

Artists from Recovering the Lost Words will share how their work reconnects viewers to nature through interpretations of words removed from the Oxford Junior Dictionary. Zoee Xiao will discuss how Little Memories draws from shared childhood experiences to celebrate curiosity, wonder, and the beauty of everyday life, while Darla Barolini will speak about how The Classroom explores education, community, and the evolving dynamics between students and educators through painting and installation.

All Julia C. Butridge Gallery events are free and open to the public.

As an arts & humanities club, we love making little excursions to support local artists 🎨📸🏺 And we were so happy to meet so many wonderful Austinites at @asianseasonatx’s AAPI month kickoff event. Cedric has been so kind to us in helping us get the word out about our free community workshops and events 💖 When we reached out to ask for help, we were total strangers, but he did the Difficult thing and responded as if we were already friends.

Thank you so much to the whole organizing team for putting on such an amazing festival experience!! We’ll definitely be back for the next @asianseasonatx event. (Although, as Cedric told us, every season is Asian season, if you really think about it 🌸🌻🍁🍧😉).
