Lately I’ve felt my most productive and in flow state in the evenings, especially with the time difference in Dubai 🇦🇪

Flow state evenings working on something that is my biggest challenge to date

However our bodies aren’t meant to be exposed to blue light in the evening, we want a beautiful surge of melatonin in the evenings to promote deep sleep and anti inflammatory action ✨

I use a blue light screen protector from @getocushield
Blue lens glasses from @ra_optics @healf
& as always EMF harmonising devices from @emf.harmony (all day!)

I’m all about the hacks so that we can find a schedule that makes us feel our best ✨

Coming off the pill? Let’s talk SHBG🕵🏼

SHBG (Seggs Hormone Binding Globulin) is a protein made in the liver that binds to hormones like Testosterone and Estrogen, ferrying them around the body to where they need to be 🚌

The pill can increase SHBG production - by up to 250%! But here’s the issue: levels don’t always just bounce back after stopping. For some, it takes time, and for others, elevated SHBG can become their new baseline unless targeted liver support and further investigation are explored 📈

This means hormones can end up too bound up, so even if your body is making normal amounts, you might not actually be able to use them properly!

We should not be normalising low libido, brain fog, and irregular cycles - especially when SHBG is such an easy marker to check with your GP

If you’re told this marker isn’t important (which I’ve seen happen with clients recently), that’s a red flag - especially if you’re experiencing hormone imbalance symptoms like low libido

Let’s not miss out on our prime years, ladies – LIBIDO is important ✔️

Important note - there are many issues that can cause imbalances post pill, this is just one of them 💡

So much fun last weekend for @karenwilliamstylist first in person event!

So lovely to be a panelist with such an inspiring and talented group of women, we spoke all things wellness, lifestyle and confidence 🫶

ALOT of chat in the DMs after I posted this on stories earlier this morning - it needed to come onto the grid (thanks for the nudge @sophie.richards 🫶)

Whether we’re starting pur hormone balancing journey or doing ALL the things we can have these days where that inner critic is OUT

When our Estrogen and Progesterone drop low before our period we are more prone to a shift in mindset - pair that with blood sugar instability, stress and too much blue light thrown into the mix and we have ourselves this lovely combo!

As I said on my stories - in my 20s I was in the DEPTHS of PMDD and this time would be horrific. So the fact I’m now cracking jokes about my grey roots is a massive win for me - I’ll take that any day!

Common Nutritional Deficiencies I often see ⬇️

🦋 Iodine – A critical nutrient for thyroid hormone production, which regulates metabolism, energy levels, and even body temperature. A very common deficiency I see within women with a lot of mixed research out there - some experts believe in high dosing and other discourage due to potential flooding of Thyroid. Finding the right balance is key based on your needs - testing always advised!

⚡ Selenium – A powerful antioxidant that protects the thyroid from oxidative stress and supports the production of thyroid hormones. It’s also a key nutrient for both male and female fertility, playing an essential role in sperm quality and egg health

🔋 B Vitamins – Crucial for converting food into energy at the cellular level and support adrenal function, while chronic stress can quickly deplete stores, leaving the body less equipped to manage stress effectively. Methylated B complex is my first port of call as they work together as a collective, however some have deficiencies in specific B vitamins. Important to test as there are different types of B vitamins which can make all the difference on the individual

☀️ Vitamin D – Need I say more! If you live in the UK it’s hardly a surprise. Critical for immune function, bone health, and hormone regulation. Low levels are linked to fatigue, mood issues, and even fertility challenges. Regular blood testing is essential to know where you stand, and sunlight remains the best source, with supplements as a helpful backup. Many common genetic variants such as VDR which can also prevent absorption (I’m such a genetics geek!)

🥩 Carnitine - super important for transporting fatty acids into our cells for energy production. It’s abundant in animal based products

⚙️ CoQ10 – Vital antioxidant for mitochondrial health, helping cells produce energy efficiently. It also plays a significant role in egg and sperm quality, making it essential for fertility!
