I got a friend, now brother named Joseph, AKA @rime_msk . Few years back I got a call from my brother @dr.dax , he let me know Rime was on the way. We took part in each others programs and ceremonies. The nights were strange and inspiring, a pivotal part of my journey back to myself.
My mother used to be very adamant about reminding me to be creative. I was a painter, a sculptor, and a magician and somehow along the way I strayed the course.
Rime came to town, took me painting (in cowboy boots), reminded me the gift is in the process and to be unapologetically creative, and embrace that, and I’m thankful. Use that as therapy, speak the ineffable even when it only leads to being confused and tounge tied... spit it out, like exercise, you’ll become stronger, you will improve. You’ll speak the language of the mystery but like anything it takes work, dedication and, discipline.
The time we’ve spent was some of the most inspiring times I have experienced in many years. I look forward to mopping, adding paint to the portal and continuing to explore the unknown and making every move a work of art. Silence, contemplation, and creativity, these three. But most importantly remember to be creative. Feed your soul and protect your energy. Rime will be speaking with @brandonderoche at the Phoenix Rising Psychedelic Speakeasy in Nashville on Nov 5 at the Analog, and I couldn’t be more honored.

Rime’s composition sketch book (filled with art, poetry, and psychedelic epiphanies.) His blotter art, a painting of a recent mural, and last but not least, the incredible portal he painted on my land after our first journey together. Based on an interaction he had with ancestors, he was inspired to paint and proceeded to bless the land with a portal he painted called “we are the hands of our ancestors”, which intern reminded me we need our ancestors present. Christmas morning 2024 I put my mother’s ashes in the ground at the ceremonial space. I am so glad I did, her presence is always felt.
