And just like that, the 2026–27 school year is underway!

Zoie is two weeks into Riverland Community College, pursuing Nursing during the day and working nights at Benedictine in Owatonna. Grady has one week of his senior year down. It’s hard to believe this is his final year of high school. And today, Averie starts her first day at the U of M, pursuing Dental Hygiene.

Both girls are still making time for their weekend Army drills, while Grady somehow finds enough hours in the day for school, friends, football, hockey, and his weekend drill.

Here’s to a great year ahead! Keep working hard, keep believing in yourselves, and know that I will always be your biggest fan! Love you all more than you’ll ever know! ❤️

Grady has officially made the decision to join the Army National Guard. He signed as an 11B (Infantry) through the Rising Senior Program, allowing him to begin his journey early by attending RSP once a month in Faribault while completing his senior year. He will leave on June 9th, 2027 for Basic Training and AIT at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Never in a million years did we imagine our children would choose a path like this, but here we are, watching them become strong, selfless, and driven individuals! Watching them grow into people who want to serve something bigger than themselves is one of the greatest honors a parent can experience.

Grady, we are so proud of the man you are becoming. We can’t wait to watch you take on this next chapter. 🇺🇸
