What if an art gallery felt like home? 🛋️✨

This week, we took a tour of The Atterbury Flat at Chelsea College of Arts – a once bland visitor apartment, now transformed into a vibrant “live-in archive” in time for London Design Festival 2026. Designed to break the usual exhibition rules, this space features over 100 student and graduate designs made for touching, sitting, and real interaction.

From thermochromic benches that change colour when you sit on them to 3D-printed lamps and bespoke wooden door handles inspired by the local Millbank architecture, every single inch of this space tells a story. Conceived by UAL Lecturer Zoë Tynan-Campbell alongside graduates Abigail Rigby and Bhairavi Yogasivam, it’s a living space designed to evolve over time. You can even shop a curated edit of homewares from the flat at UAL’s retail store, ‘not just a shop’ (272 High Holborn), or check out their window display takeover until Sept 21st.

The showcase comes alive over the coming weekend with a fantastic schedule of events and activations - expect everything from immersive soundscapes and live portrait drawing to a mixed-reality experience and an uncensored storytelling night.

Such an inspiring activation to explore in real life - and just a stone’s throw across the river from NLSA HQ!📍

V005 pendants for @theatterburyflat

Cannot thank Zoë, Abi and Bee enough for the opportunity and for the patience through (some) turbulent moments (note to self: stick to the brief). To find a home alongside the work of other UAL graduates (117 to be precise) is a special feeling.

The pendants emerged out of a fascination for frugal, improvised tented structures that pop-up everywhere in India for celebrations, protests, festivals, street vendors, and a thousand other applications.

An open house runs all week until the 20th of September, along with an event with @sonderhaus.cic and a weekend takeover by @whatdoesnot. Details can be found through the link in my bio!!!

Lastly, no work (and no one) is self-made. Last slide acknowledges the people who helped me realise my vision. The list includes embroiders, artisans, master tailors, fabricators, friends and my parents, who have been hired on retainer as QC managers.

Hi! We’re Abi, Bee and Zoë, the team behind the Atterbury flat! One lecturer and two graduates tearing up the rule book and reimagining a university space like never before!

It really shouldn’t be that radical, but somehow apparently it is!
