POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Managed to combine two of my fave things in one reel - cycling and Andor. I will bore people about Andor as much as I will drone on about cycling. Proof that AI is never writing my posts unlike some of you lot 🤣
Good week on the bike - some early rides, some gravel and some good time with good peeps.
Kinda did Lumes dirty with the soundbite 🏃🏽‍♀️

The Rapha Women’s 100 felt like a reunion as I caught up with many women I’d met on my descent into cycling. Dalila was one of the first female cyclists I saw on Instagram. She rode gravel bikes and was a Canyon ambassador (fun fact she can build bikes too) and seeing her posts made me excited to get more involved.
The theme of this year’s ride is to celebrate the friends and fierce rivals who push us further. So I’m gonna celebrate… me. My fiercest rival is myself - and that girl is a handful and I don’t have the time to get into imaginary beef with other cyclists I’m already too busy fighting my alter-ego!
But I can celebrate the women who have helped push me deeper into this life like Dalila, Scoot, Helen Bridges, Emily Chappell, Christine @onemorecity_ldn and many others. And I hope you met some of them on the road on Sunday. Thanks to the team at Rapha for a great event and for stuffing us with pasta bolognese and gyros to make sure we didn’t bonk! It worked!

I don’t know if it’s the HRT or the daily sunshine but the bad days don’t hit like they used to. Instagram may be a highlight reel but like most people of course I get sad, irritated, angry, and get my feelings hurt.
Bikes don’t cure everything but sunshine + bikes + a few good people in your corner helps a lot of things.
Thanks to the people who are there to listen when I’m whinging and get me out to ride when the sun shines. I don’t think I would’ve made it this far without you 🩷

Let me know if you want me to go deeper on any of these (that’s what she said) but seriously. A year ago, I was 30 mins slower and about 30 watts weaker on a similar length climb, the diabolical Col de la Madeline. That climb broke me down into a thousand useless pieces and it remains the hardest thing I’ve ever done on and off the bike. It was also the source of all my fears about climbing Ventoux - important context for when you ask me “how was Ventoux?” and I say even with 210,000 wasps, lack of water, and lack of shade it was like 7/10 tough but not the hardest ever, that honour is retained by that big back b*tch Madeline. The altitude sickness still got me in the final 2km though so if anyone knows the cure for that please tell me immediately k thaaanks. If it wasn’t for @zoochi__ I’d have no footage at the top from being so dizzy 🫠🫶🏾

Pro tip for climbing Ventoux - bring bug repellent and more water than you think you might need.

Next use of free will will be Stelvio and all his aggressive ahh friends. Stay tuned.

Comment “goals” for my mind map for locking in 💕

I never really wanted the responsibility of running a cycling group. But I think if you really care about seeing more women on bikes it’s a responsibility you can’t really sidestep. Thankfully I have some great people who share the mission and together we put on our second Hot Girls Ride Hills to get the girlies over their fear of going up. And while we had a mix of abilities the drive and determination was the same across the board. Everyone did multiple ascents of Swains Lane one of London’s most feared climbs and proved to themselves that they were stronger than they thought.
It was so powerful to see over 20 women going up again and again and realising that they could do more than they ever expected. Between checking on the group I managed 7 on the new bike.
The responsibility melted away and I left feeling proud and with my own cup fully topped up from seeing everyone smash it.
If you missed out look out for the next one and make sure to sign up!

minutes before my first ever gravel ride pretending like I wasn’t medium anxious 🥶

is it still a gravel ride if you take a detour onto tarmac for coffee and cake? actually, don’t answer that

live, laugh, try not to cry on the outside because you’re learning how to ride gravel as someone who doesn’t know how to ride gravel 🫠
