Talking to @genegallerano and @thebobray about their new documentary, THANK YOU FOR LISTENING, which charts musician Joshua Ray Walker’s confrontation with cancer and desire to play the Grand Ole Opry with charm and depth was an absolute pleasure.

This is a great episode that dives into what it takes to get a film across the finish line when real world circumstances come between you and your vision. The production design, in addition to the story itself, is a major highlight, placing Walker in a room surrounded by analog tech that gives the entire film a soulful, eclectic quality. One of our favorite docs of the year.

Guests don’t enter Marlowe, the new lounge at 2912 McKinney Avenue, so much as find themselves enveloped by it. The lounge, designed by Duncan Design Group, is gloriously Art Deco. While Marlowe is designed to provide guests with an “elevated” experience (with prices to match), the menu itself is fairly down to earth. Chef Vidal Cantu is responsible for the lounge’s light bites, while Kyle Buckelew serves as beverage director.
