It’s not a secret that I see dance has a free place to express. And I think often time, it offers a space for us to express parts of us that are limited in the world of Words. I believe dance is a space of freedom—a place where we can explore who we are and find authentic ways to express ourselves, often communicating parts of us that words cannot fully capture. It is also a space where we can move beyond the preconceived ideas and expectations that society places on us, especially around gender. Dance invites us to listen to ourselves, to embrace what feels natural, and to express who we are without being confined by labels or traditions. So, when choosing a role, I encourage every dancer to choose the one that resonates most deeply with them—the one that allows them to feel free, seen, and authentic. Let your choice be guided not by what is expected of you, but by what feels true to you. Because dance is not about fitting into a role; it is about making that role your own.
