Did you know that my first performance with a knight was during my own exhibition opening?

This performance is titled 𝘗𝘭𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘦 and took place at @pushergallery last February.
I asked my boyfriend at the time to be my suitor and +1 for the night.

This piece came to be, through my discovery of the “Cinderella Complex”, a theory that argues girls are repeatedly exposed to fairytales featuring a prince who will come and save them, through that developing the subconscious need to be saved. Absurdly enough the person I found myself dating turned out to personify the counterpart of that complex.

The relationship didn’t last for very long and ended with shattered dreams and hopes. For my upcoming solo exhibition I worked on a new performance as a response to what happened.

To be seen on 30 July during the opening party of 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 @shelternightgallery
