In the last 6 months I've been cooking up a really amazing program called DanceMELD.

It's a month-long artistic exchange and choreographic labs with active artists from Bulgaria, the US, and Spain.

The program starts with me teaching improvisation in the mornings and working on a new performance called Future Love in the afternoons.

Future Love is a choreographic research that will use inflatable mylar sculptures and live feed special effects, exploring ideas around human emotion belonging and the need for love in our AI littered world.

I can guarantee that we will have fun.

This program is happening with the generous support of Sofia Municipality - "Programme Culture."

Find details @bodymeld and @baza.space

See you on Monday.

The work of a dancer in choreographer these days is more than 50% computer work. Yesterday I'm returning to dancing the rehearsing my show Honesty and Other Fiends. I'm performing the Saturday as part of Antistatic Festival.

Here's a little Glimpse from today. I'm officially trying to burn all the fat I gained over Easter... struggles definitely made easier with good music #danceimprovisation

I've been fighting a head cold for a while plus I'm not the best vocalist... But here is how I warm up for my show. The visual effects are there to distract you.

HONESTY AND OTHER FIENDS
📅 Tuesday, March 31
🕖 19:00
📍 Toplocentrala, Sofia
🎟️ Link in bio

After traveling through the US and the Netherlands,
this piece is finally coming home.

Honesty and Other Fiends blends contemporary dance, stand-up, poetry, and visual effects into something that is… a little absurd, a little uncomfortable, and (hopefully) very human.

Through humor and irony, I’m digging into something that feels very now:
👉 our obsession with greatness
👉 the chaos of “alternative facts”

What happens when honesty becomes… performative?

This work turns the thinking, questioning body into an act of resistance.
But also — we laugh...

If you’re looking for:
• performance in English
• something between dance + theater + stand-up
• a night that’s smart but not too serious

come.

Considering adding a disco ball to Honesty and Other Fiends. May be every political piece now is missing a disco ball… How absurd is the world getting?!? Get your tickets in my bio and find out on 29th of January at @toplocentrala #improvisationdance #dancerehearsal #съвременентанц #Софиякултура

Starting rehearsals at BAZA. I'm excited to share Honesty and Other Fiends. I'm scared to revisit it. So much has changed. I'm scared of being too radical, or not radical enough. What is this Honesty I've been practicing for so long about? Its a personal act, that has turned political in some way.

If you are in Sofia, join me on the 29th at Toplocentrala.
Tickets are in my BIO.

One more from rehearsal the other day. Improvising with gesture is something I spent years researching, though I’m a bit rusty and quite predictable here. The song though is the best. Come see my show Honesty and Other Fiends on Jan 29th at Toplocentrala, Sofia, Bulgaria. #gesturedance #zornitsastoyanova #danceimprovisation

So here it is for you - In The Shadow of the Morning Rain - an instantly composed song on a walk in the woods this morning.

It's been a minute since I've posted anything creative. Honestly, I've been busy being overwhelmed and depressed, dealing with life and also trying to finish my master's degree in Choreography. So naturally, I've been doing everything else but choreographing.
Here is an instant song composition from my seriously needed mental health walk this morning. Singing, stringing melodies together, and coming up with the words on the spot is super fun, therapeutic, and very illuminating. Highly recommend this activity... Maybe I'll teach a workshop on it 😂

I have a new artistic outlet... Water color doodles. Here are some of them. It's a particularly fun activity at the end of the day. No plans, just doodles, some come out great, others not so much.
