@cxne.cxne rnd 5 Ryton 🥈
After a really strong start i was really happy with how i felt but ended up trapped between another rider and the tapes with nowhere to go. Without enough time to unclip i ended up landing funny on my ankle as i fell. I tried to get back up and carry on but as i got back on the bike i realised the pain in my ankle was so bad that i couldn’t put enough pressure on it to be able to clip back in. After a 5-minute sit out left me a lap behind i decided to get on and try to finish the race. Pushing through it trying to ride only using one leg left me causing more and more pain as I continued. By the end of the race, I couldn’t put any weight on it at all so I headed over to the medic. Cold compress applied to reduce swelling and resting for the rest of the day to reduce pain.
Thank you to everyone that came over to check that i was okay and @cyclingnicole for helping me up onto the podium ❤️

A smooth sea never made a good sailor.

Happy to take the win today after being unsure if I’d even be able to race after a crash on Friday morning.

There we go then, first Cyclocross race of the season in the books and what a great way to start. A local race on a great technical course, with plenty around to make the photos interesting. And the races themselves were belters, wonder when we might start getting some mud…

National Champs 🇬🇧

Another tough race for me at AE forest last weekend; not super happy with how the raced turned out, so now it’s time to rest and reset ready for CX season.

Although disappointed, I still had a great time with everybody there. Well done to those who raced.

Thanks again to @benoldham13 @collywobs_79 @ollieolds07 and those who continue to support me and those who wished me good luck prior to this race.

National Champs~ Ae forest

So pleased to come away with 2nd in short track on Friday, after sitting in 3rd the whole race, then a mechanical issue for @aoife_scawn on the last lap meant me moving up. Then the xco was a disaster after crashing on Friday and then struggling throughout the whole race but kept pushing to the finish for 8th.
Now Romania for Youth European Champs! 🇷🇴

Thank you so much for the support:

One of the toughest prems on the calendar, credit where it’s due to Andy giving it a go at national level.

Pete Taylor RR Sunday and then onto a stage race the following weekend.

North east crit league E/1/2 a few weeks ago, breakaway for half the race, caught with 2 laps to go, sprint for 6th on a hot day!
