I’ve been going back n forth about what I want to say in this post…

Maybe something about how unexpected and wild 2025 was for me. Or how none of this shit was in my bingo cards. But truthfully there are no words. Nothing will hold the whirlwind of feelings in this moment.

This has been the hardest and scariest month and a half of my life. Becoming a bilateral amputee is a wholeeee different ballgame, everything I had adapted myself to over the past (almost) 9 years is now thrown out the window.

Everything has flipped upside down. My needs are now way greater than my family’s means. I truly believe in my community and their ability to hold me up during this time, but the finances aren’t adding up and we need help.

So please, if you feel the urge to read more about my story or donate anything-every dollar counts! The link will be in my bio until we’ve reached goal❤️❤️

Much love, back to my lil hospital bed I go🤕

Zoe Zahava is a mixed media artist born in the Bay Area and raised in Brooklyn. Zahava’s work centers their personal experience as a queer person with disabilities. Using art as an outlet to express the emotions that come with being visibly disabled, focusing on the frustrations they’ve faced living in an ableist society.

Printing both inked and non inked embossings in such a large scale was super rewarding:))

Last slide is a picture of me presenting my work at MAPC back in October, I was lucky to be a part of an important panel (led by the lovely @rosemarypress) that was centered on how to remove barriers in studios and academic settings.
