On the middle floors of the tower, despite the perfect symmetry of its architectural elements, east-facing windows have been incorporated, allowing visitors to gaze from Azadi Tower, a national heritage landmark, toward Mount Damavand, Iran’s iconic national natural landmark.
در طبقات میانی برج، با وجود تقارن کامل در تمامی عناصر معماری
پنجره‌هایی رو به شرق تعبیه شده‌اند تا بازدیدکنندگان بتوانند از میان آن‌ها، از برج آزادی، این اثر ملی، به سوی کوه دماوند، این نماد و پدیده طبیعی ملی، چشم بدوزند.

برج شهیاد که امروز برج آزادی نامیده میشه، سال ۱۳۵۰ به دستور محمدرضا پهلوی و با طراحی حسین امانت (معمار ۲۴ ساله) برای گرامیداشت ۲۵۰۰ سال شاهنشاهی ایران ساخته شد. امانت توی طراحیاش معماری پیش از اسلام (هخامنشی و ساسانی) رو با معماری دوران اسلامی (مثل گنبد مسجد شیخ لطف‌الله) تلفیق کرد تا نمادی از پیوند تاریخ کهن و مدرن ایران باشه. این برج ۵۰ متری با سنگ مرمر سفید ساخته شده و بعد از انقلاب ۱۳۵۷ اسمش به “آزادی” تغییر کرد تا نماد تحولات اجتماعی ایران بشه. امروز برج آزادی نه فقط یه نماد شهری، بلکه یه مجموعه فرهنگی با موزه و سالن‌های هنریه.

The Shahyad Tower, now known as Azadi Tower, was built in 1971 by order of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and designed by 24‑year‑old architect Hossein Amanat to celebrate 2,500 years of the Persian Empire. Amanat brilliantly blended pre‑Islamic architecture (Achaemenid and Sassanid styles) with Islamic elements (inspired by the dome of Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque) to symbolize the connection between ancient and modern Iran. The 50‑meter white marble tower was renamed “Azadi” (Freedom) after the 1979 Revolution, reflecting the country’s political and social shifts. Today, it stands as a cultural complex with a museum and art halls, remaining Tehran’s most iconic landmark.
