Today, we welcomed quite possibly the youngest patrons into the library when a mama cat gave birth to three kittens in the ceiling of Sheepshead Bay Library. With the help of a neighborhood rescuer ( @strays_of_brooklyn_ ), library staff patiently waited for 40 minutes, playing kitten meow sounds on a cell phone until the mama cat leaped down from the ceiling, and was safely trapped. A big thank you to our staff and Gina, for your incredible help in saving this sweet family. The rescuers will join us this Saturday at our Jazz and Dance Under the Sky Festival. #tnr #feralcats #communitycats #neighborhoodcats #librarycats #catsofinstagram #librariesofinstagram #librarylife #brooklynlibrary #brooklynpubliclibrary #nyclife #brooklynlife #adoptdontshop #catrescue #rescuecatsofinstagram #kittenseason #adoptdontshop #spayandneuteryourpets #rescuekitten

As much as we love catnip, what we love more is TNRing our community cats 🐱 Hamtramck has hundreds of unsterilized cats who need our help. Consider donating to our GoFundMe to fund spay/neuter, vet care, and supplies. The link is in my bio 🙏❤️ #TNR #CommunityCats #CatnipFairy #CatsOfInstagram #FunnyCat

We may be in the middle of our work week, but for the community cats of the Atlantic City Boardwalk, every day is a beach vacation! 🏖️🐈 Community cats live full, healthy lives in their outdoor homes--especially when they're spayed or neutered through a strong #TNR program. That's exactly what our Boardwalk Cats Project provides, and it serves as a blueprint for the entire nation. River and Bleu, and all of the Boardwalk Cats, are local celebrities in Atlantic City. There's nothing like seeing happy cats at ease to lift your own spirits! #communitycats #atlanticcity #tnr #boardwalkcats

Yesterday, I shared the beginning of this new TNR project. All 8 cats are back where they belong, they were returned to the colony they call home. TNR isn’t about taking cats away. It’s about giving them a healthier future while preventing countless kittens from being born into the same cycle. This colony didn’t happen overnight, and it won’t be changed overnight. But every cat fixed is a step in the right direction. Eight cats are no longer contributing to the cycle. There are still so many more to help… but today, let’s celebrate these 8. ❤️🐾 #TNRWorks #TrapNeuterReturn #CommunityCats #SpayNeuterSaves-Lives #CatRescue #ColonyCats #EndTheCycle #MakingADifference #MichiganCats #CatAdvocate #EveryCatMatters #TNRMichigan #RescueLife

Love to hook my TNR kitties up with some @petgreens when they return back to their colony! Also I got my porch lined up with greens and ‘nip, hoping that my babies Cowgirl and Redman (who love PetGreens) will smell the good stuff and make their way back home soon!! #trapneuterreturn #tnr #cats #trap #animawelfare #catmenunite #animalrescue #blackcommunity #uknowwhereyocatat #kittens #hiphop #fixthefixers #catpeopleunite #catsmusicme #rjthecat4ever #theogtk #love #cuffapet #sterlwerld #justtrapcats #servinjack #tnrqueens #saveallofem #communitycats #1UP #dowhatyoulove #purrackobama

A mama cat we trapped last night went into labor inside the trap. 💔 By morning, she had given birth to her babies. She and her tiny newborns have now been safely transferred into a cage where they can rest and recover. It’s kitten season across the USA, and countless kittens are being born outdoors. For these mama cats, survival is incredibly hard—finding enough food, keeping their babies safe, and protecting them from the elements is a daily struggle. This is why spay and neuter matters. Every litter prevented means fewer cats facing this harsh reality. #KittenSeason #TNRWorks #CommunityCats #SpayNeuterSavesLives #RescueCats

Community cats' bond with their colony is part of the reason why Trap-Neuter-Return (#TNR) is so important. Not only does it return the cats to their outdoor homes, spayed or neutered and vaccinated, it also returns them to their feline families!
