Dynamic stretching exercises is mandatory before physical activity because it enhance range of motion, increases blood flow, activates muscles coordination, and activates the nervous system, which enhances athletic performance and reduces injury risk.
Always incorporate before your workout or training session…⚡️📈

Stretching BEFORE leg day vs AFTER leg day 🦵🏾🔥
If your hips feel tight, restricted, or just not moving right… SAVE this.
Most tight hips aren’t from leg day
They’re from skipping this 👇🏾
• Dynamic stretching before training to warm the hips, improve blood flow, and unlock range before loading
• Static stretching after training to release built up tension and help your hips recover properly
👉🏾 Hip opener you should be doing
Before leg day, drop into a half kneeling hip flexor stretch
Squeeze the glute on the back leg
Gently drive the hips forward
Reach the arm overhead and rotate slightly
30 to 45 seconds each side
This helps your hips move freely so your squats, lunges, and hinges feel smoother and stronger.
This isn’t about being more flexible
It’s about better movement, better lifts, and long term hip health
If you want the exact stretches I use step by step all in one place
My full stretching guide is in the link in my bio 👌🏾

🔥 HOW DO YOU WARM UP BEFORE YOUR WORKOUT?
Instead of jumping straight on the treadmill or bike, try starting with dynamic stretching + mobility that prepares your body for the movements you’re about to do.
Dynamic warm-ups help:
🔥 Increase blood flow and body temperature
🔥 Improve mobility and range of motion
🔥 Activate the muscles you’re about to train
🔥 Prepare your joints for movement
🔥 Rehearse the movement patterns in your workout
🔥 Help you feel more mobile, stable and ready to lift
Cardio can definitely warm you up, but it’s more general.
A good dynamic warm-up is specific to your workout.
Leg day? Think hip mobility, leg swings, bodyweight squats and lunges.
Upper body? Think shoulder mobility, arm circles, band work and controlled rotations.
You don’t need 20 minutes either — 5–10 minutes of purposeful movement can be enough.
Warm up to PREPARE your body, not tire it out. #fitnesslife #warmup #gymmotivation #fitmum #workoutmotivation
Before hitting the track, I always start with ankle prep biar stabil dan strong, lanjut dynamic stretching supaya otot lebih ready to move, lalu finish dengan plyo buat activate power & speed.
Proper warm up = better performance + lower injury risk.
Train smart, not just hard. ⚡️

If you’re doing random warmups before your workouts and don’t really know if it’s productive, let me share some tips!
Warmups are the perfect time to not only prep + prime the body for movement, but ALSO a chance to sneak in that mobility work. Win-win! ✨
While there’s no one-warmup-fits-all, I can share some warmup/mobility ideas + give you a handy structure:
General warmup ➡️ Specific warmup
1️⃣ Start with a general warmup to get the blood flowing (ie light cardio)
2️⃣ Then move to mobility and dynamic stretching (moving through active stretches instead of holding a stretch)
3️⃣ (optional) If you’re more on the adv. athletic-side of things, add in potentiation/performance warmups (box jumps, kb swings)
4️⃣ Transition to specific warmup sets for your first exercise (ex. If you’re hitting back squats, warmup with an empty bar, then progress in weight while decreasing reps to prep for your working sets)
Better warmups = better lifts + injury free training 💪
Save this for your next workout! 🙌

You probably don’t realise you’re doing these but they can make considerable difference in your running performance 💪🏼
These little habits might not seem like much but when compiled together they can really limit your ability to be able to run fast for longer periods of time 👇
1. Taking shallow breaths - it’s important when running to be breathing deeply into your stomach to avoid running out of breath. Shallow breathing will lead to fatigue and impact your ability to be able to run for longer distances.
2. Preparing - often overlooked but it’s important to fuel yourself before you run. Prioritising refined carbs in the hour or 2 before you run will provide you with more energy through out.
3. Over striding - something I battled with a lot was taking too big a step. If your foot lands too far in front of your body it will actually waste energy and slow you down.
4. Not warming up correctly - stop static stretching before you run. Dynamic stretching is what you need to be doing. Activate your muscles and prepare them for the high intensity/high volume training you’re about to do.
5. Not strengthening legs - you need to support your running with strength training in the gym… having a structured gym routine is the key to every strong runner and I garuntee you some you are neglecting it.

Do you stretch before or after your lift? 🤔 Let’s break it down:
👉 Before your workout, you should be doing dynamic stretching + activation, NOT just holding static stretches.
This means movement-based stretches that prep your body to perform. Think:
•World’s Greatest Stretch
•Bodyweight squats with a pause at the bottom
•Lateral lunges
•Inchworms with a reach
•Hip openers or runners lunge with rotation
These get your body moving through full range of motion and increase blood flow to the muscles you’re about to use.
Then you want to activate key muscles—glutes, core, upper back—depending on the lift.
Doing squats? Activate glutes and hips.
Pull day? Get your lats and mid-back firing.
💥 And if you’re training for athletic performance, adding plyometrics like pogos, skips, or bounds is a great way to wake up your nervous system and prime for power and explosiveness.
👉 After your lift, that’s when you slow things down with static stretching. Hold positions for 20–30 seconds to help restore range of motion, downregulate the body, and start your recovery process.
✅ Before = Dynamic + Activation + Plyos (if training athletically)
✅ After = Static Stretching + Cool-down
Don’t skip your warm-up. It’s where performance starts. 👊
